General public desperately needs this patch, so no wonder they want to release it ASAP. I'd expect another patch within 1-2 months to fix most of other stuff we mentioned in the bug forum.

The way they are steamrolling patches i wouldn't be suprised if it is sooner.

Not quite, Meneth. As you can see in my avatars I didn't pre-order CK2.
For some time a bug in the forum allowed me (and probably other people) to choose every existing avatar. I reported this as some error in the forum software and they fixed it. But I got to keep my avatar.
From time to time I want to change it but I know that I won't be able to get this one back when I do it.
Explains the lack of a fancy golden CKII icon.

Hmm, if I have an Iron Crown game started at the first CM patch. Will the achievement trigger when I use the new patch? I still got 150 years to go so probably won't be at 1300 before the new patch actually goes live though. But is will it be savegame compatible in terms of achievements?

Change of plans guys! This turned out to be far more serious than we thought, and required some fairly dangerous code to fix, so we are postponing the regular patch to early next week to give you guys a chance to test the fix and make sure it works.

We also threw in a fix for the "Shia Calphate always being created early so we never get the rise of the Shia event" problem for good measure.

If nothing else super-serious pops up this is what will be released as the 2.2.1 patch.

Keep in mind that this is a beta branch, so there could still be bugs, crashes and odd behaviour, use at your own risk.
If you want to use the beta branch, right click the game in the Steam client, choose Properties, click the "Betas" tab and select the "Beta 2.2.0.9" version of the game.

- Changed the Shia and Sunni Caliphates creation triggers to require being independent or all lieges being the correct religion
- Fixed bug where vassals in a revolt did not properly return to their former lieges after the revolt.
- Religious head titles will no longer be created by the AI if the character cannot afford the cost.

- Shieldwall Tactic is now possible if a flank has atleast 20% of either Light Infantry, Heavy Infantry or Pikemen and atleast 20% archers
- Feint Tactic is now a Light Infantry Tactic, it is possible with atleast 20% Light Infantry and atleast 20% Archers and gives bonus to Light Infantry and Archers and a Penalty to Heavy Infantry and Heavy Cavalry
- Lowered Massive Longbow Volley Tactic bonus to Archers to 350% ( from 420% ) and reduced the 2 affinities bonus to 100% ( from 300% )

MODDING:
- Fixed bug where the match_mult condition in spawn_unit did not get the correct levies from vassals when calculating strength.

Hey, guys, I say awesomesauce. With the extra working time for the patch, are you guys able to toss in more fixes and goodies? I have no problem waiting. I'm loving every second of this game and am grateful for every patch.

Please don't rush a new main patch yet. I know that the new patch doesn't mean the end of CKII development, but it would be so much better to have a clean patch instead of another messy one.

And right now the game is still messy.

Please consider taking next week to look at more code optimizations, particularly in the areas of performance/stability and AI. The game will be much better for it.
Wow. I actually find myself agreeing with DerOstKonig. Is it the end of the world already? Take your time with that patch, guys.

It is really frustrating to not be able to export the game to EU4, there is always at least one revolt somewhere so the odds of the exporter working are close to none. :(

The devs have stated they will start work on the Converter's numerous issues once the regular gameplay issues are sorted, which we must be very close to.

There are still problems with (Elective) Gavelkind. I have a game (and have duplicated the situation with a newly created game) wherein I'm the King of Mali and the Chief of Canarias, with no other counties in my personal demesne. When I die, my primary heir inherits the Kingdom of Mali and nothing else, causing him to become unlanded immediately, destroying the Kingdom of Mali, and passing control to my younger son who inherited Canarias. I'm sure this isn't intended behaviour - the primary heir should always inherit the capital, even if it's outside the de iure territory of the primary title.

Anyone got a confirmation from the devs whether Iron Crown will work with saves from the current patch(not beta) when the next patch is applied? I'm unable to find anything except the patch notes here saying it will work now. Feels kinda pointless to continue my current Lombard game if it's not going to work anyway since that game isn't the most fun anymore after 300 years of DoWing the AI.
