Not sure whether it is Gavelkind directly or simply a bug in relation to the Provence County, but I have experienced this a number of times in two different games and multiple reloads:
West Francia control a vast tract of land, including the majority of Burgandy and two Counties within the De Jur Duchy of Provence, however I control Provence County directly (me as a King having direct control of the county). However the moment the King of West Francia dies and Gavelkind kicks in, Burgandy splits away and I lose control of Provence, which gets absorbed into the new Kingdom of Burgandy and becomes the capital. No war, no claims, no ill feelings either side, I just lose the country and the new King gets it???
Is this supposed to happen??
