Paradox can you please fix the Cataphract sprite bug?

It is fixed for me.

I created a retinue and the armored heavy cavalry model was not replaced by any horse archer.
No, this is unchanged. When you first create a cataphract retinue (ever since RoI), you get a heavy cavalry model (because it only has one guy in it, a heavy cavalryman). The first time the retinue is reinforced, after a month, the heavy cavalry model is replaced with a horse archer model.

The problem is that the game treats horse archers the same way as it does elephants when determining models. So, if you want to play Byzantium, you can easily mod your game so that your cataphracts will get heavy cavalry models... at the price that Indian armies will never be represented by elephant models, but if you're playing Byzantium that's not a priority. But if Paradox wants Indians to get elephant models by default they have to give anyone with any horse archers in their army horse archer models by default.

Can special units be weighted properly against each other, even if they can't be against normal units? If they can, then the obvious solution would be to just make everything into a special unit, and weight them all against each other properly.

Does anyone else have a huge issue with coats of arms all being the same default red/black? Italy and East Francia to name a few.

Yes, though not those particular ones in my game - instead it's the Indian dynasties.

First post:

Just after uploading to steam we discovered that the indian portraits added by Rajas of India do not work for some reason, rather than delaying the beta patch to next week I figured you'd be ok without the Indian Portraits for now, this will obviously be fixed before the patch leaves the beta.

They don't? I couldn't figure out why one of my vassal republics didn't build any TPs at all, but that explains it then...

This is most annoying when you, like me, play a game with tribal pagans -> merchant republic. All the patricians are landed, so no trade posts are being built. It's a PITA to try to revoke all the titles just to make them build trade posts...

The patch notes do look pretty promising and things appear to be heading back on the right track, but no mention of adventurers? Are they still more broken than ever? :(

I'm fine with the removal of the "you win" buttons of Assassinate and Hire Retinue, but this has become a "you lose" event for small kingdoms with the nerfs to its counters…

Is it normal for The entire world, every religion, every pagan, to become at war with you the second you take rome? Even tiny retinues from other nations vassals are red to me and I'm technically not at war with anybody. I also have no looter flags in my war status. Bulgaria who is led by a dynasty member and is orthodox, is also at war with me or their armies are able to attack atleast.

Sounds like an old bug of which nobody knows why it happens.
A restart of the game usually fixed that.

Also it would be great if you re-enabled the customisation pack option to change dynasty shield religion. I haven't seen any dev mention anything about the removal of this feature that I paid for.

This! If you're playing as (say) a Norse with a Christian CoA and you want to use one of the Norse ones, there is currently no way to change it to a Norse CoA. Or if the reverse: if you're a pagan and you switch to Christian, tough, you're stuck with pagan CoA because the customizer isn't going to let you change religion designs anymore. That was one of the key features behind CoA customization in that DLC.

(the top liege requirement is also still annoying. I understand the "gameplay" reasons behind it, except the only person who is customizing CoA is the player anyway so why should the player's abilities be clamped down?)

- Elective Gavelkind: No longer creates titular kingdoms for secondary heirs

:( I so wanted that to be in. I know some players hate it, but it's a historically realistic anti-blobbing device and the essence of what gavelkind is about. It also ties into the tribal idea of clan/family rule rather than estate-like inheritance of kingdoms, duchies etc. from one individual to the next.

Form a new Empire now require you to have either 3 kingdom titles or a realm size of 180, instead of both.

1. Castile, Leon, Gallicia. :p (Or Leon, Castille, Navarra). 'Imperator Totius Hispanniae' at its best. :p Also should enable something like Bulgarian/Serbian emperors due to small de iure kingdoms in the Balkans.
2. France in some starts. k_France has room for 118 holdings, k_Aquitaine 102, Flanders 31 and Brittany 25. Actually, k_England can hold 124 and Wales 31, that's 155 from start in some starts, before including Irish provinces — a half of Ireland would be 24.5, and England sometimes holds that much. At that level of development 800 gold shouldn't be an insurmountable obstacle.
3. Still, removing the absolute requirement of 3 kingdoms means empires can form in some places where a local power would simply not have 3 royal crowns due to there not being so many de iure kingdoms at hand. Perhaps an empire will form out of k_Africa or k_Mauretania, or k_Egypt.
