The problem is that non-doge patricians don't get the distance cost penalty for building trade post. Reigning doges suffer from the penalty but vassal patrician don't. This need to be fixed. I understand that trade post placing logic has been improved, but now patricians have an unfair and unrealistec edge agaisnt reigning doges

Edit: for reference for the problem, see this post:

Yep, and I don't know how to fix it by myself... Definitly not in the defines.lua

Also, one more thing.. Can you change how the Special unit GFX works?
I've modded it so certain Europeans can get Elephants, but they use the Horse Archer graphics. Can it be done so that the graphic of a special unit regiment depends on the unit and not the culture?

Do you mean this bug report you made? Because saying partrician succession is broken, and patrician succession doesn't work as expected when modded is a completely different thing.

While a fair point:

1. Things working as expected when modded is kind of vital to mod support.
2. The mere fact that a patrician succession can split the family palace and landed titles from the higher tier titles means that it could happen in vanilla, which would be hugely unfair for the player if it happened to them.

2. You mean like in vanilla, when you can inherit the family palace and landed titles, but not the republic/doge title if you lose the election ? ;)

The question rather seems to be if it's possible to code, to make it moddable for female succession.

Revolt risk is still there

Will only go away in new games started in 2.1.2.1.

No, the problem is that... gah, the lack of specific terminology with republics makes this difficult. The problem is that it's possible for the family higher-tier titles to be inherited by the wrong character - e.g., if the doge is a king, and a patrician who's a duke dies, it's possible that one character would inherit that patrician's provinces and family palace, while another would inherit that patrician's duchy. The latter would be a vassal to the doge, but since they'd own no landed titles or family palaces, they'd get an immediate game over. The former would have a family palace and land, but would now be independent and, being an independent republic of less than duke tier, would also get a game over.

The question rather seems to be if it's possible to code, to make it moddable for female succession.

This would also be nice, yes.

Quick question - Does this: - Fixed error in troop amount trigger causing horse archers to get elephant tactics

Apply to ALL special units? I was also getting Gray Wall with my Camel Cavalry...

Ok, now I'm not getting Gray Wall, but instead I'm just getting "General Tactic" or whatever. Does the Camel Cavalry not have any specific tactics? I think they count as Light Cavalry, but it's not triggering the tactic when the flank is *just* Camels.

Thanks.

edit:

Somehow i messed things up, as i didn't know about the formulas for diplomacy anymore.
Looked into Meneth Wiki and that cleared my confusion.

Please update the diplomacy tooltips, as state or personal diplomacy are unintuitive/not what one might guess....and i tend to forget how it works.
Thanks

edit2:
..or better also make an ingame library to which each tooltip links. Sometime in the future. ;)
That way rather complex stuff can be explained without messing with the bubbles and being satisfying for the player as well.

I notice that the issue with Republics and Trade Posts hasn't been addressed. :/ It just seems strange the way the AI has started to spam posts randomly around the world, seemingly immune to the distance-cost modifier.
