Supposedly the trade posts are WAD which is just silly. This is the main issue keeping me from playing now.

i don't think it will be too hard to mod out but I really hope this is actually changed in the patch. It is just as immersion breaking to see Genoa with tradeposts in Denmark as it is to see Norse pagans in India.

All Groogy actually said though, is that it's WAD that they go for the most profitable, not that it's WAD that there is no distance penalty for patricians anymore for whatever reason.
Also, patricians should one way or another stay in their region, not go for a trade post on the other side of the continent, well not before they build several close by.

The Patrician bug has been fixed internally, but you will still see Patricians trying to spread out in order to dominate their own regions. They just won't do it in Denmark unless they can afford it and deem it most profitable course of action.

Spreading is fine and very good to avoid the "many traders in one sea zone without anyone claiming the seazone" problem, but the areas shouldn't be too far off home.
You know like Venice building their trade posts in Hamburg or Gotland in Egypt, but i assume this is taken care of in the internal fix then.

Thanks. :)

Is there anyway to move concubines and lovers to the rival tab friends ?
Cause the number of friends I made in my game is so low , it is not even worth that huge tab .

Same for rivals while numbers of rivals are bigger , it still isn't worth that huge tab .
Rather move marriage ties to that tab , it can run hugely marriage ties .
Especially 2 dynasty still surviving .

so friends showing up as lovers , lovers and concubines into friends place .
and marriage ties and rivals swap places in the relationship tab .

Or point me to where I can mod those :p

?? 'Lovers' and 'marriage ties' are together with 'rivals' and 'friends' in the 'relations' tab. So it seems to me that your post doesn''t make sense.
Maybe you use an older version or play a mod ?

Unless you just use the wrong word and don't mean tab, but line or box.., which i suspect.
Thinking about it, swapping could make sense..

In what way?

3 things I can think of (in 2.1.1 - I have not downloaded the beta patch - but didn't notice these listed as changed in the notes) where education is all kinds of screwed up are:

1 - You don't get notified if a non-dynasty child of your court is up for education. This one is rather simple, and I thought 100% tied to 2, but now I don't think 100% correlates to:

2 - You can't control who educates children in your court. Here's one example that I know works:

1 - Father a child by a lover
2 - Denounce it
3 - Wait 6 years, r-click educate on the child's portrat, select education
4 - A default choice for the child's ward comes up, generally some random mayor or somesuch for me - change that to yourself (or anyone different from the default)
5 - Wait until either the 6th or 24th of the next month (I'm playing Iron Man - my saves are on the 4th)
6 - On one of those dates, the child's ward will automatically switch to the default one chosen in step 4.

This issue doesn't seem to ever happen with children of my own dynasty. It also doesn't seem to happen with prisoner children. And it doesn't ALWAYS happen with non-dynasty children in my court - only most of them. For example if I have an unlanded steward who's married and in my court, and his daughter would be a perfect match for my son and heir - I can't always educate that daughter.

3 - Children don't seem to come out with the right specialties anymore. I was under the impression that if a child was educated by a mentor with one of the martial traits (brilliant strategist down to misguided warrior - any of the 4 martial traits), that child would come out with one of them. Not necessarily the best, but take after their mentor somewhat. Let's say I'm Midas Touched, and have 3 children of roughly the same age. I educate 2 myself, and give the 3rd to my Brilliant Strategist Marshall. Used to be (as far as I could tell), the 2 I educate would come out with a stewardship trait (not necessarily Midas Touched) and the 3rd would come out with a martial trait (not necessarily Brilliant Strategist). Now that 3rd one can easily come out as a Detached Priest, while the 2 I educate generally come out with a stewardship trait. Not sure if this is an AI thing only, or working as intended. But it doesn't seem to be working as it used to work.

The beta patch doesn't solve the memory issues for me.
I can load the game now, but all my saves get broken whenever I try to load them (including post 2.1.1)...

Will it be solved in the official patch release ?

I think he means move things to different boxes, not tabs (or maybe a combination of tabs and boxes.

For me, I've never had more than 2 friends or 2 rivals - yet the boxes for each are huge. Yet I've had enough marriage ties that the character portraits overlap quite a bit. I've also once gotten up to 4 lovers (including my wife), yet it's in a default smaller box than rivals and friends.

Basically he's wanting to use the space on the rivals tab differently - put things with a larger number of people into the larger boxes, and move sparsely populated things to the smaller boxes.

Yup, think so as well. My reply was a thought process. ;)

By the way it looks in the UI i agree for marriage ties, but what purpose would it help ?
I only checked marriage ties when i couldn't determine one or two alliances. The only other one i can think of is for Zoroastrians.
I don't think these two cases are important enough to change the boxes in vanilla, as rivals and friends are far more important than anything else in my opinion.

@education

There always has been a chance that the outcome of education is a completely different then what the mentor has.
Not sure if there actually is a hardcoded reason other than the level of education of the mentor.
I suspect learning and traits of both might play a role, as i compared several outcomes. 'Scholar' seems to matter and help outside of job specific traits.
The mentor having traits that counter his education seems to make it less likely, but i don't know.

I'm noticing that terra incognita is actually kinda problematic in converted games now. Being able to see the whole CK2-area map isn't a huge deal but as an Indian nation I get terra incognita (or mare incognitum) between my territories in the Indian Ocean, and I am completely unaware of the nations east of India.

Could you do something like at least give every nation knowledge of the CK2 sea zones?

(Also cultures are missing but you're probably aware of that already)

Small request

For Hindu characters, would it be possible to add an intrigue option "invite Vaishya to court"

I have found there seems to be a shortage of them and this is a problem if I win a Holy war against the Muslims and need to hand cities out.

You are aware of the little button on the development interface for holdings that lets you automatically distribute them, right? It's a little crown up near the top.

I'm still getting endless tournaments, AND I still can't take all of Rome and then declare war on a landless Pope, I know that wasn't in the fix, but it's super annoying for anyone who wants to play the bizzies

No the box for marries ties should be swapped with rivals (who has a smaller group in the long run )
The box with friends should be swapped with lovers (dito story) infact concubines should be added to lovers box when swapped . Makes it much more visible and easy .

how many friends do you make in one dynasty play trough , if lucky maybe 3 ?
How many rivals does a person make , maybe 4 max ?
how many marriage ties does the player or AI get ? A lot :p
Lovers, 5 people is infact very achievable with attractive trait , 3 concubines when most modded more consort ;)

Makes everybody happy with a much more visible relationship tab .

That image bug of the portraits is caused normally when people manually enable "low_res_textures" in the settings.txt, if you set that line to NO, and you play with high resolution in game it doesn't mismatch the facial changes.

Has anyone else had a huge performance hit with the beta patch? The only thing I did was opt into the beta patch in steam then launched the game twice. No matter how many times I run it its always sluggish. Before this patch I could keep the speed on 5 and just pause it when I needed to do things but now when the games paused its acting sluggish like when the game is running. Kinda like an interface sluggishness and you can tell from the way the mouse moves around. Before the patch I only got the sluggishness on speed 5 unpaused.

Is it me or are the revolts over-the-top!? I'm playing Khazaria so jewish religious authority is low but I get constant revolts, even if at full levy. Especially more during a war. It's awful.

That image bug of the portraits is caused normally when people manually enable "low_res_textures" in the settings.txt, if you set that line to NO, and you play with high resolution in game it doesn't mismatch the facial changes.
Nah, that's not it; most players, myself included, already have low_res_texture=no and high resolution. That bug he posted had to do with how the graphics files for turkish_female_headgear.dds, turkish_female_headgear_mid.dds, turkish_female_headgear_behind.dds, and turkish_male_cheeks_3.dds are proportionally two times as large as they're supposed to be.
