Seriously, that's an awesome move from Paradox. In my eyes, it means either a last push or, and I find the later option more probable and enticing, a new beginning, as CKII might become CKIII since everyone who wants it will have had the chance to get the game for free.

2 years ago i heard about this game starting in the renaissance and "ending" on napoleonic wars, eu iv, ehh.. no real time battles..

Still i was amazed by the map and some features

Still something attracted me to it..

Hundreds of times i heard about this game

I eventually found the forums and still not playing the game i followed the cool and informative discussions

Curiosity grew bigger and bigger so i tried the game (not before seeing a stream), 1 hour i said.. this is where things got grey, i soon figured out the time space continuum was broken, the weird for me was that when i stopped playing i was 93 years old although it felt 10min i aged 40 years in one session ! the only logical explanation was .. ! i figured out i wasn't probably the only victim of them so i started investigating, eventually i found it ! they were here before us ! they built so much ! they evolved us ! they did everything ! so now i am currently employed by national geographic where i debunk the false facts we were made to believe, wake up people !!!

Well, ok, I may have exaggerated a little..

Paradox has made some amazing games, not only that but it keeps adding value to them which in turn made the community more and more involved with the games which again makes the games better over time.. the circle goes and goes..

I love the community and so much about how the developers develop.

I guess what I am trying to say is a simple big THANK YOU !!!

You "convince" get all of your friends to get it

ToG isn't essential, Conclave is.
Conclave, WoL, RiP,LoR and SoA add depth to the game and are the highest priority.
ToG and CM expands the timeframe (ToG does it well CM does it less so)
RoI, HL, SoI, JD and the republic expands the playable options.

Are you saying The Old Gods doesn't expand playable options?
I think 'not being allowed to play pagans' is a pretty big gap in your playable options.

Particularly since you specifically consider Sword of Islam as something that expands your playable options.

The four most common causes are.

1. You opened up single player and hit back.
2. You closed out of a game to the main menu.
3. You have a mod which isn't stable. Disable all mods and try again.
4. Your game has corrupted files, which can be fixed by cache verification.

I think I understand why Paradox gives away the base game. I also think the new "Crusader Kings II: Love Bundle" is a good idea, because it focuses the attention on the DLC relevant for the game mechanics.
What I don't understand is, why the "Crusader Kings II: Collection BUNDLE" (links from google cache and archive.org) was removed.
Now there isn't even an obvious way to buy Hymns of Revelation from the main page as far as I can tell.
You need to know it exists and specifically search for it to buy it.

For someone wanting to complete a partial DLC collection this change seems to have complicated the matter even more, and considering that keeping track of CK2 DLCs is already fairly complicated to start with, that's saying something .

Eh. If you know exactly what your target is, I don't really see what the issue is.

I think it's better to just have all the music in one big package on the front page. It shaves off about 10 items from the DLC list, which honestly would scare newer players off sometimes.

Actually, it is funny as people see free so download and start playing... then go and see the steam reviews and count the ones: "i do not understand the game" "how do you play?" etc....

Nonetheless, once it has cleared and the strongest survived, it will be all for the best
