If I may ask, will you also be working to fit together some of the new 2.5.2/Conclave mechanics with the rest of the game, as certain parts seem to work in parallel rather than being fully integrated. Linking threat to opinion, for example (Disliking those you feel threatened by), or other ways to get favors than spending gold like a super bribe button. (Perhaps replace the nigh useless sow dissent chancellor mission with one that tries to get a favor?)

Somewhat, I don't really agree Threat needs to mean Dislike though, Defensive Pacts are more like invasion intervention. I would like more ways to gain favors.

Not that there was actually a bread crumb to be found this week. I bet it will be at least 2 or 3 more dev diaries before an actual tidbit about the actual next DLC finds its way to us.

Also, it looks like a pretty small team. Its common to have less than 10 people involved in games of the size of CK2?

I think the core CK2 team was like 4 people? Until very recently 6 people was a large team for us.

A suspicious lack of hedgehogs and secret bears. I'm worried we'll never get to see them in CK2 now.

I even mentioned Secret bears in my intro! I don't know how the forum got the idea Groogy made secret bears :mad:

Great way of thinking. The idea was good but the way It is now; If you wana pass a law in your own country you have to bribe bunch of dudes or maybe you are friend with random chance. There should be threating (prisoned close family member), blackmail ("spy on" feature could be usefull there), other traints like cavern, greedy could be have more impact and lastly threat with revoke.
I am excited to see what team will come up with.

Glad to see the Game Director hasn't changed, although I'm confused by why the original designers would change the design to remove player choice and forbid the player from backstabbing.

Almost every fun story I've ever heard about CK2 involved backstabbing or betrayal of some kind. The rest relied on player freedom to choose and act. Recent changes artificially restrict both.

When I worked on it, think at one point we were only two with Doomdark occasionally chipping in? Me and Witch-King against the world!

That's pretty impressive (I was pretty sure it was smaller than nine, but I didn't know that for at least a while you were only two and a bit!). Did a pretty decent job between the two and a bit of you as well ;).

Already had my own AI surprise me and outflank me ending in me loosing Paris. Might just be that I'm bad at the game.

That sounds promising :). It's definitely a different style of combat to CK2, but I'd be surprised if you objectively bad at it - no DDRJake perhaps, but neither are the 99.99999% of the population!

DDRJake has an amazing story of how he flanks his mechanized army with nukes while fighting USA as Albania on American soil, only way he could keep his troops alive as he bee lined for New York. Rather.... inventive use of nukes.

Not that I complain for all that changed, but it is a different more gamey game.

How about this - decrease the conversion resistance of the pagan religions? Make pagan counties that border christian counties spontaneously convert. Remove the 100% ability of the ruler to (choose to) imprison a missionary. That way paganism would be a real race against time - you NEED to reform. This could also tie in perfectly with the viking raid

This, 1000 times this. The problem with raiding isn't the raiders. The problem with raiding is that the start in 769 makes it very unlikely to have the pagans convert in a reasonable amount of time. In my perfect CK timeline:

769-850 Charlemagne's Empire - Initial setup converts to "future" setup. Have titles that expire in some way (So more "West Francia" in 975) so that running these huge empires becomes a race against a clock of "I need to form France by 900 or my empire will start to fall apart!". Best suggestion: Titles that are significantly beyond their historical timeframe have ticking increases in "independence" faction revolts designed to bring the empire down. Also, titles have limits of when they can be created or usurped. So in theory, a Karling King of Middle Francia that has his only kingdom title disintegrating around him will eventually be a 1 province count that gets annexed by a larger realm.

850-1066 Viking Era - raiders like crazy. Once this era starts, the AI gets a flag telling them that the best way to stop the raiders is to convert them. I know once the raiding starts I send my Court Chaplain out to convert pagans like crazy. Also included should be "Christian creep" where counties border monotheistic religions.
