Duke of x, heir to Byzantine Empire
I inherited the empire so soon that I had no time even plot for it. Then I died too and my infant son took over. He (or his reagent) fought off multiple deposition/independence attempts and in the meantime took over sicily. Which was stupid. You don't want a land that rebels all the time and requires ships to reach. The grandson of the original emperor had a fun time invading infidels and whilst his time was filled with war it was kinda fun. But after some pagan bashing the time limit hit and it was time to move on. I was quite surprised that I managed to keep the byzantine vassals in check. I used chancellor on the most angry duke and gave titles to those who could be tipped over to liking me with it. And not even the turks seemed to want my stuff too badly. Compared to CK I Byzantine seems much more survivable.
This is probably the best paradox release ive ever seen, even the bugs are just small, funny oversights.

- How does wardship work? I regularly get the warning that my children don't have a warden but I couldn't find an option to give them one. Are the events that pop up from time to time where a courtier asks to become a warden the only way to get one?
You need to go to your children interaction screen, and select education or something along those lines. Then you can select a tutor.
Also, all my vassals hated me from the beggining, dont know why.
Are you really sure, that Pope has heir (dynasty inheritance) and he is his marshall is "just small bug"?
How about message system wchich cannot inform you about f.e. that somebody outside realm, like king, has dead?
I used the character finder to get Matilda a lowborn dude with 26 diplomacy, then betrothed all my sons and daughters to all of the HRE sons and daughters. There are like 5 primary marriage betrothals now.
You can also go to another rulers diplomat screen and send them to be educated there. While the child might turn say german for example, it's accually quite beneficial with a +20 opinion modifier. Of course, I sent my heir to Ethopia, and he came back some wierd culture and religion. Great stats tho.. not one under 10
I'ts the risks you can take
