For anyone who wants to add characters, dynasties and events, you can request an ID-range here. So that different mods can be compatible with each other and with any future patch.

Don't forget that CK2 has the capability to support namespaces for events. For an example of how to use a namespace, see inside the spoiler.

A namespace is effectively a "container" for a set of ID numbers. When you set a namespace inside an event file it is assigned a unique range upon run time automatically, preventing conflicts with other modifications and future patches without you needing to worry.

Code:

namespace = example [COLOR=#FFFF00]# This can be anything almost anything you want but can't contain punctuation nor "foreign" characters, it must be alphabetical (a to z).[/COLOR]

That's all there is to a namespace, they're incredibly easy to use and will save you headaches later

You can create 9.999 characters, that is a lot (seeing that there are about 20,000 characters currently in the game.

Is he sure that a Billion isn't possible? Since my Map isn't working yet I haven't checked mine, but if these are too high numbers it'd be nice to know sooner rather than later, but one would think Veld would be aware of such a thing before leaping to that as his basis for those he designate.

It is not even needed for any mod, but if you want your mod to be compatible with others it is easier.
