Crusader Kings II beta keys anyone?

Hmm, I submitted an application to be a beta tester but you said I wasn't good enough. Now based on writing skills you'd possibly give it to me? Funny. Still, good luck to the AAR writers. I am far too lazy to try it.

Testing ends up feeling like work after awhile, so perhaps they chose correctly the first time around.

Being it's going to be a beta test, one might have considered giving a few to people who are spending their time posting about bugs they have found in Sengoku. Surely it would be more productive in the long run to get observant bug hunters rather than fanboys on board. Though I understand you need more enthusiastic publicity from the community regarding your latest release.

aye that's exactly what this is, so pretty creative on the PR side of things for once and especially after hearing the comments from the recent "Bonus" Dev Diary that was written today. Since supposedly the Beta is pretty much in a near finished state for CK II based on the comments the beta testers posted within the dev diary itself, so those who get in will be in for a treat to play a near finished game months before it's even out.. Granted, I'm sure there's still grunt work to be done as the last stage of development cycle begins, so it may not be all fun and joy while playing .

Personally, I won't be doing it, for one I can't get into Sengoku as much as I want to and to write an AAR about it, probably not gonna happen, lol.. Instead, I guess there's always playing Sengoku on and off in my own time (probably will simply play more so after the Patch) and good ole Crusader King (the original) which I've been also having a blast in playing lately too , hehe.

I think it makes perfect sense. People who post bugs are already rewarded in that the games won't have the bugs anymore in the following patches.

Instead, they're paying for free, honest publicity with a Beta key, which costs them nothing.

Testing software in this stage of development is more work than fun[1]. As cool as it may sound to play the game early, I rather much prefer to play the release version and enjoy the freedom of bitching and moaning incoherently on forums about dubious bugs instead of investing a workday into writing an essay on game design since the developers have been slacking again and have no clue anyway. Because hey I payed good money for that piece of shit software so they better go fix it. Being a customer is bliss.

Please post your AAR's in the Sengoku AAR-forum (only starters and updates) and if anyone wants to write a demo AAR, you can post it in the Sengoku general forum. Also, please post a link to your AAR in this thread so we know who's in and not

Oddly enough, we are not keen on lazy betas. Someone who can write a good AAR is likely to be a decent writer (proof reading, event text suggestions, bug reports, beta AARs) and able to put some time and effort into game related stuff.

My point exactly, I would guess they did choose correctly the first time around. But now they offer the chance for those people who failed to go anyway. I would have thought it would make more sense to continue choosing the normal way rather than competitions like this.

Either way I'm not complaining. Especially if we get some good AAR's out of it.

Is it supposed to be one big thing, or several parts? The way (and amount) I play the game, sometimes, I could probably write up an entire games worth AAR and then post it in one big go. Though I guess that wouldn't feel as involving to the people reading. The problem is just that if I play, I might finish the game within a day

I would hardly call everyone writing an AAR "fanboy". Nevertheless, these five betas are not going to be the only ones.
