I'm noticing a significant perf hit from this latest patch.

When I load up a saved game, and everything is still paused, I like to scroll around the map a lot, in order to reorient myself to what was going on when I last left the game. Usually, this is a quick affair. But now, it's quite sluggish, and it jars as I pan. Again, the game is in the paused state as I do this.

Then once I unpause and start playing, it moves along at a decent enough clip, but the response time is noticeably slowed. For example, when I hear the chiming of a bell (for a major notification), I usually hit spacebar real fast to absorb the message for a second, then quickly unpause. This has worked great for me in the past. However, now when I try that technique, and there's quite a few major notifications coming up at once, I find the game is so caught up in itself that it's not registering my keystroke. (This doesn't happen when messages are showing up spaced somewhat apart.) The feeling is that the new incoming messages are taking priority over my keyboard input, and I have to now watch in the order to see if I'm actually getting the pause icon, and I'm furiously striking the spacebar a time or two in order to get my pause-request "to stick." Quite annoying.

My game was just fine before the latest (XQSJ) patch. It was running smoothly in ORS (or something like that). I own all gameplay DLCs and most portrait DLCs, don't play with mods, and play ironman. I run a 3 year old machine w Windows 8.

Groogy, please answer. Will there be any changes in the turkish portraits? Skin color is still not equal to that taken as an advertisement.

Its Socialist Day tomorrow in Sweden meaning no one will be working, but I'll check in on it by Friday, But as far as I am aware the correct version is out. I've seen some people still have large Turkic headgear which seems weird, do these people not let Steam update their game or some such because that was updated long long long time ago.

Is there anyway to reconstruct or salvage the beta Turkish portraits for a mod? I wonder...

The change of sorting on titles was unintentional and has been fixed for the next patch, sorry about that folks.

Will the next patch be 2.1.5 or 2.2.0? (yes, just getting a sense of how long we are waiting)

This is not an official answer but, just from my personal gaming experience.

As a rule of thumbs, if it's something recorded in the save game file, it's not going to get fixed. Writing a patch that goes and edits your saved game file has a big potential to screw up some that are not having issues.

It'd be nice if Ironman saves could get retroactive fixes. I was hit by the "50% religious unrest" bug; I didn't start conquering India until the early 1300s or so on an 867AD start. Luckily for me, once I had fully conquered India, I had a massive enough empire to afford 250k+ retinues to play whack-a-mole with (later, 300k). I've since played through to 1453AD, but was hesitant to start a new game as I expected to hit the same problem.

please revert the "title and CB selection in diplomatic interactions now gets sorted by CB type and title name". This makes it very difficult to manage what you actually want to distribute after a holy war. The previous way was far superior. If not, give us an option to set it whichever way we prefer.

Edit: I am assuming this is why things show differently when you are trying to "grant a landed title" to someone. If not then maybe its a bug.

This was addressed by PDS a few pages back, after an avalanche of complaints similar to yours:

As has been repeatedly said, this was fixed some time ago, but the fix did not affect ongoing games. Non-ironman saves could be edited to remove the modifier, but I think you said you were ironmanning, so that's not an option for you.

I can not stress enough that that's NOT a fix. Ironman is an integral part of the game. There are enough players who play Ironman and run into this and similar bugs. And they can expect to have them fixed and be able to continue their games. Because they are paying (!) customers (!).

You're expecting an extreme amount of patience from us. Of my 5 Ironman-games 5 are broken (!) because of bugs which are known for at least 4 weeks.

That's a pleb way of thinking, you would never buy a car, have the motor not work then have the dealer give you tires but still no motor and be "thankful".

I paid for a product that is not working.

Exactly. I won't go so far as demanding my money back from Steam. But I will surely consider thrice before I buy another game from a company, which thinks that a solution which destroys many-hour-savegames of countless customers is appropriate. And I bet that there are enough players who think like me.

This release is quite bad by the standards which PDS wants to achieve with CK 2. Before CK 2...."Not fixed after 4 weeks? Come back in 4 months and then we're talking."
At least without the expansions, we don't have to pay for patches.

As one tester wrote in Tech Support, it seems that memory optimizing in 2.1.4 went out the window. Those coms with specs slightly above the minimum are dying despite the program not using 100% of available resources.
