I'm noticing a significant perf hit from this latest patch.
When I load up a saved game, and everything is still paused, I like to scroll around the map a lot, in order to reorient myself to what was going on when I last left the game. Usually, this is a quick affair. But now, it's quite sluggish, and it jars as I pan. Again, the game is in the paused state as I do this.
Then once I unpause and start playing, it moves along at a decent enough clip, but the response time is noticeably slowed. For example, when I hear the chiming of a bell (for a major notification), I usually hit spacebar real fast to absorb the message for a second, then quickly unpause. This has worked great for me in the past. However, now when I try that technique, and there's quite a few major notifications coming up at once, I find the game is so caught up in itself that it's not registering my keystroke. (This doesn't happen when messages are showing up spaced somewhat apart.) The feeling is that the new incoming messages are taking priority over my keyboard input, and I have to now watch in the order to see if I'm actually getting the pause icon, and I'm furiously striking the spacebar a time or two in order to get my pause-request "to stick." Quite annoying.
My game was just fine before the latest (XQSJ) patch. It was running smoothly in ORS (or something like that). I own all gameplay DLCs and most portrait DLCs, don't play with mods, and play ironman. I run a 3 year old machine w Windows 8.
