If EAxis made CK3, you would have the ability to play the king of France with the base game. You'd have to make all the other characters playable by buying DLC at $10 a pop.

But don't mind me, I'm just one of many simmers who are very, very unhappy with what has happened to what used to be a great game franchise. (Or why I will never buy Sims 4, or indeed any "Origin-only" game.)

I agree. I play Sims 2 Ultimate (if you had any Sims 2, you got the lot for free when Sims 4 came out), I have no intention of getting any Sims 3 or 4, however even with their atrocious model, there are a shed-load of players who will happily dole out wads of mullah for a new version with limited gameplay (to the previous version with all the DLC which they will have likely bought), which is what I was saying: EA does it and the proles buy it. Ergo, it isn't necessarily suicide as was inferred.

But you have to accept that EA is a way larger company than Paradox. And The Sims is a way larger franchise than Crusader Kings. Large franchises mostly sell on their own, regardless how well or bad they are.

Personally, I'm not going to lose any sleep over whether CK3 will come out or not. I'm perfectly happy to keep going with CK2 as long as possible..if CK3 eventually comes along...great, I'll give it a whirl.

I've gotten FAR more than my money's worth out of CK2 with me logging the most hours on it out of any single game I've played in my lifetime to date.

It depends on what exactly you want to do, but there's more to scripting in CK2 than what normally gets added to mods or what's commonly known to the community. You can already mod holdings, from what I can recall.
