Hey everyone,

Just a question, someone knows if there are any plans for CK3 or EU5?

I do wanna play these games, I just concern that I might not enjoy the game 100% without the DLC`s, and there`s a lot for both of them.

Still a couple of DLCs coming for CK2. Best chance is to buy the DLC you want when there is a 75% sale. dont think they'll cut down the price anytime soon

CK3 won't have all the features the DLC provide for CK2 bundled in - that's not how sequels work - so if you need all the features, you really don't want to wait for it.

It`s not even for the features. I bought the CK2 Complete and I feel way more difficult trying to keep up with the game and all the DLC`s than Stellaris and HOI4, that I bought the first ones and have been keeping track and improving the gameplay step by step with which DLC. I know it might not make much sense, and I could do that with these games, but it will be more expensive.

That`s why my question, I just wanted to know if they have plans for the future to start with a sequel for those games.

You are fretting over a future that probably isn't even set into motion yet. Ignore the cosmetics, and go for the important DLCs for the time being if money is an issue. You don't have to immediately get it all at once, nor worry that the next edition of the game will come out before you can enjoy the current one because it will not be soon.

Considering the game is still selling as a ~$200 package, I doubt they want to consolidate the features into something they can sell for $40-60, which will take years to make. It'll probably take a lot of time in conception to figure out how CK3 could possibly be worth buying over CK2.

You don't need all the DLC. Some is more important than others, but there are several that are only relevant if you want play certain cultures, religions or government types

Selling yes but it would likely be selling better if it was cheaper. I have no doubt that they are losing money by having their game so expensive. A few expensive sales never catch up to more numerous cheaper ones.

CK2 isn't like the other Paradox games either where each one adds new core mechanics. Really all you need are Conclave, Way of Live, The Old Gods, and Charlemagne. The rest are pretty much pick and choose what region you want to play. Maybe get Reaper's Due as well.

Also (if you are interested) I can also state that Jesus will be visiting my flat on the 26th of March and I can offer you a spot to meet him/her for the special price of £3000, PM me your bank details and i'll give you the details.

Aye.

RIP and Conclave are the ones I would say are necessary. Then way of life, and TOG and CM only if you want to play those start dates. In fact I would list LOR over both the latter for retinues.

And truth be told I prefer ck2s DLC policy, it has gotten a lot less bloated than Eu4 has despite being out longer.

Barely. A business model where the full game is affordable about twice a year is utter nonsense. Nearly everyone I've tried to get into the game has been chased away by the high price.

On the contrary HoI4 is a much tighter game than EU4 is.

Barely. A business model where the full game is affordable about twice a year is utter nonsense. Nearly everyone I've tried to get into the game has been chased away by the high price.

The game is 6 years old, which is ancient in computer game terms. They wouldn't be selling many units of the base game at anymore at almost any price point, I'd think. I doubt that they even sell very many of the older DLCs, and suspect that the majority of the sales are of the past 2 or 3 DLCs.

Of course, you and I are both just guessing, but since my guess assumes that Paradox knows what it's doing as far as finance goes, while yours assumes that they don't, since they haven't gone out of business I'd say my guess is more accurate.
