Holy crap...that's actually a great idea.

Paradox, your next project should be World of Crusader Kings (WoCK :p).

I'm joking and yet very serious at the same time. This could definitely work.

Hahaha,

Well, I run a role-play dynasty based guild in Star Wars Galaxies MMOLG, and plan on doing the same in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. In Galaxies, we have about 100 members from all over the world. I've used the structures found in CK for guild officers, hehe (seneschal, marshal, spy master, courtiers, ect). Works wonderfully. Most members, about 80%, are household knights, some are troubadours or bards or minstrals (however they wish to describe themselves). All in all, the household is set up to mimic what you would see in a midieival noble household.

Ive actually been runing the dynasty-based guild in Galaxies for a number of years before I discovered CK, but have since incorporated some ck ideas into the guild as a whole. I look forward to duplicating this success in Vanguard, which will offer more in terms of player communities and role play.

Star Wars Galaxies was and still is the best MMO I have ever played in my life.

Well until they released the 'new' game engine and then a tonne of luke/anakin skywalker clones who had just finished watching episode 3 appear in the mos eisley cantina. Then most of coronet market dissapears because the only people left on the server are jedis that camp in tatooine or mustafa.

Well, yes, that would be a great point to make in an Offtopic thread. ;)

As is, though, I think that with dynamic coats of arms (ie, halving and quartering with upwardly mobile marriages or being redesigned by truly great heirs) a CK mmorg would be fantastic. Don't know if pdox's guys are interested in programming stuff like that themselves, but they don't seem to mind partnering with other guys... :)

Ugggh please. That's how CK ended up in such a mess in the first place. The next CK game, CK2 or CKMMO :)p), will have to be an in-house operation.

But wouldn't it be great if they got Stardock, the guys behind Galactic Civilizations, to write the AI?

I don't believe that heresies are represented in CK. In a sequel they should get at least the major ones (such as the Cathars) to become a possible faction or something of the like.

I believe that many more aspects of the various religons be represented. Even if allowing more religon tags. In addition I would like all religons playable, not just Christian. I would like to see something like:

Catholic Christian
Orthodox Christian
Cathar Christian
Coptic Christian
Gnostic Chrisitan
(Other) Christian

And also

Suni Muslim
Shia Muslim
Pagan

Cathar Christian (=Gnostic Chrisitan)
Coptic Christian
Wyclifites
(I'm not actually sure on the specifics, but poss. also Armenian & Georgian Orthodoxies if they're distinct enough from Greek Orthodox)
(Poss. also Mendicants being represented as a heresy or faith as they try to purify the church, much to its consternation)

And also,

Sunni Muslim
Shia Muslim
Nazari Muslim (ie, the Seveners or Assassins)
Sufi Muslim
Funny Muslim (eg, the Almohavids thought their guy was the Mahdi, same as the Fatimids)

Pagan (should be at least divided into Steppe & Northern versions)

Judaism (ie, useful Judaism, with random couriers in court)
Buddhism (espoused by some of the Ilkhanate monarches)

Replying in quotes. Gotta love it.

Would it be too much to include more of the world? Again, I'd like for it to include the Near and Far East.

I'd even throw in some of the New World, but with major restrictions, such as you can only make headway if you're in Scandinavia (I doubt that ancient naval tech was high enough before the 1400s), or I guess if you had a major expedition of tens of ships, you might have a chance of reaching the Americas. And also the A.I. is restricted from discovering it themselves, unless they're Norse.

Arraigned marriages would be fantastic. There have been plenty of times I wanted to marry off my eldest daughter to the Crown Prince of So-and-So, who was a year older, and by the time my daughter turned 16, he was already married with a child.

Besides more of everything I'd like:
-Lordship being tied to the province rather than the title, e.g. a duke with provinces in France and Germany should be able to be a vassal to the French king in his French provinces and to the German king in his German ones.
-Family trees, this could be INSANELY complicated though, if you want to look at different families and their ties to eachother.
-Correct quartering of coats-of-arms.

i totally disagree with this. It would be unhistorical. The parts of the world this game is showing is perfect for a feudal society/game.

Yeah, ditto. Certain parts of the world had occasional influence on the mediterranean - Makuria, Aden and Afghanistan come to mind - but the instant you include them, you have to include the people who influenced them and eventually you'd end up with a game including the entire East African coast and Hokkaido.

I'm not saying that game wouldn't be better or wouldn't be really damn cool in its own right; but it's certainly not this game. :D

I wish for a CK2 that doesn't have horrible 3d graphics like those of EU3 and maybe something more along the lines of Medieval Total War 2 where the strategy map graphics are good and more cpu/ram efficient.

And I wish CK2 not to have shitty map flags like EU3 but instead something along the lines of what there is in CK now or Medieval 2 system where the flags aren't horribly placed on the map.

Simply, I think if the map includes China and other far east areas, then the number of provinces in Europe are limited. Beacuse China should have 300 province or so for the man power and the total of the provinces is, at most, 1500 or so. The wider the map is, the vaguer the concept becomes. I'm afraid of the loss of details.

But Moore's Law says that if they wait until 2020 to write CK2, the processors should be able to handle it! And maybe even dynamic coats of arms, stronger AI strategies, diplomacy, and the MMORG thing!

China would probably be inappropriate for the CK timeframe - but Paradox should make a separate game about feudal China (and the rest of East Asia) based on the CK engine. I'd buy it.
