I would love this, the ultimate in roleplaying strategy gaming.

Kingdom management of EU. Character roleplaying from CK2, further dynamic war stuff from M&B. It be so sexy. I think the key feature about all is, dynamic, emergant stories. I love MnB but I wish there was tighter political elements like in EU and CK, as well better developed method to display character relations, like in CK2. I love CK2, but wish there was a bit more to do in terms of ruling what you have, like in EU and the chance to wander the dynamic world ala MnB. I love EU but wish there was more personalisation between relationships, ala CK2. So yeah, give me the ensemble feature game. Yum.

The ultimate in role-playing, hells to the yes. This would genuinely be more rpg than what we get to today, which is static game worlds to reside in.

Played MTW2 + Addon up and down, loved it. But I don`t think it would be wise to combine TW + CK. No AI on this planet could be a match for even an average player, so even an enemy force that outnumbers you could be beaten without serious problems. Result: World domination in no time.

I'm waiting for a medieval MMORPG with the economic, political, and strategic depth of a Paradox title. Essentially an MMO version of Mount & Blade that's greatly expanded. That would be the pinnacle of human civilization for me! ^_^

Or they could somehow implement the dynasty focus into a Mount and Blade game. It would be hard to mix them right. But on the other hand Mount and Blade already has marriages, they would only have to speed up the time, allow children to be born, allow you to start as your heir if you die and some small things that are needed.

I would much prefer that. I'm hoping M&B 2 focuses a bit more on the RPG aspects instead of just better graphics and more multiplayer junk.

Don't want "real battle" in my Paradox games though. Nein danke.

This would be a black hole of a time sink...

CK2 eats time like creackers
M&B Warband doesn't fall much behind

Those are exactly the only 2 games in playing right now, because both complement each other, so I can see where OP is coming from.

Sorry for the crazy bump... But I was googling this exact same idea.

I for one would NOT approve of 'game-wealding' like this, the whole point with CK II is to have some parts 'abstracted' (battles) so that we as players can focus on the important parts (dynasty building). Also I have yet to play a TW-game which is 'fun' for more then 3-4 battles because it quickly becomes repetetive and AI can never be made into a 'challenge' for a player.

But the beauty of such an idea, even one from February 2012, is that you would essentially be playing CK2 but through the eyes of your characters. M&B had appointing marshals, who led armies, so that's easy to do, and you could either choose who you want to command parts of the army like in CK2, or let the AI marshal do it. If you want to fight then you can, just like in M&B, and give orders so your tactics affect the outcome. If you don't want to fight then you don't have to and it is "abstracted" as you say, though it wouldn't really be abstracted, it's just fought without you.

The possibilities of such a mix are worthy of salivation. It'd be the same game as CK2, with all its glorious detail and options, just done in a first person view with M&B. I know how difficult it would be, it's not like we're suggesting a music DLC, but that level of realism and detail is what I hope others agree with me would be a great game.

I love mount & blade warband , i have more then 600 hours played on steam.
But without mods it has a lot of problems. The m&b series could learn a lot from CK2, like casus belis, dynasties actually meaning something and real diplomacy.

I played the mod brytenwalda last and it aimes at realism and it's awesome but a some of it's completely new features aren't working very smooth.

What I am saying is warband is great but it's hard to play, because of performance issues that shouldn't be there, the interface and so on. 10 000 people battles would either be a days work, probably 10-12 hours (no saving in between), or if there supposed to be on the map at the same time it would cripple the performance. An other thing the games have a very different pace, waiting to arrive some were in mount and blade can be very annoying. Having children has been implemented in brytenwald but i am not sure if you have to wait 9 months. M&b 2 doesn't show a lot but from what i gather from the trailer, its gona be more blood not more diplomacy. So i am going to save my hopes for the mods.

The m&b genre/game concept what ever, has a lot of potential but I think it still has a lot to figure out. Ck2 on the other hand is part of paradoxes grand strategy tradition, it's highly unlikely they will bring real time battles of any sort into there series, because the current concept is working fine. If they were to release a entirely new cross-over-genre game that would be a dream come true, but if it's rushed it will probably be very bad.

The Dysnaty/Samurai Warrior series and their Empire version is one example of those games which try to combine a strategy map and personal battle experience together. They are decent games but of course, cannot be compared to M&B and CK2. It turns out that to make such a combination is a big task and required a lot of resource. The final produce will be a very huge game that required a high end computer to play. And without well execution, the game might be turn out a ugly abomination. So what we have here is a very risky investment for a small market.

I have pondered the idea of an MMORPG made by paradox set in a medieval world. Use the engine of the new war of the roses game as a combat system. And have a map full of provinces that players can claim and become feudal lords over. Combine also elements from the new Salem game into that and you got the best MMORPG in the world.

I've been thinking about some thing like this as well. I think I would prefer a mount and blade style first person combat where you don't know where your projectile is going to hit. Also I think I shouldn't have a lot of rules so people figure out there own laws and I'd set it about the old gods era. Imagine your a ruler but you relay on other player for tax collecting and protection. The distrust and succession crisis and war will come all by it self. A complicated system of trade routs and flow would also be needed.

I am fully aware how unlikely this is and how ridicules it sounds. I's more for the sake of the argument I'd like to see where other people who want a similar game would disagree.
