Crusade of Kings 2, world map graphic issue, land masses render black

This is what I should see.

What I'm running:
Ubuntu 12.04.
Dell Inspirion 1750 laptop, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU, VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 4 Series Chipset Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 07).
2gigs RAM

Anyone know of a fix? The game runs fine. Starts up, sounds fine, every other graphic works. Just the land renders pitch black.

That video card is way under-spec for this game:

Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 6750 / NVIDIA GeForce 320 / NVIDIA GeForce > 9600 or higher, 1024MB graphics memory required

That card has no inbuilt memory, but can use system memory of course. In Windows you'd use dxdiag to see how much, in Linux I'm not sure - this looks like it might work.

Certainly make sure you have the very latest driver available for it from Intel.

I mean, it's a simple texture issue. I just need land masses to render their correct textures and stuff....but alas.

My computer is indeed inferior. My drivers are updated (at least, checked for updates) daily.

Thank you for the assistance, unless you have any other ideas as to why this may, or may not be working.

I'm sorry about that, I know no-one likes to hear that outcome. You might consider one of the low-res graphics mods like this one I just found

Hummm.
Modding on linux is odd. Been tinkering for the past few hours.
