There was a crusade for Tunis. I took it, but the Crusade still goes on, and I'm not gaining any piety. What's the problem?

Crusade start and end by event, which means that it doesn't automatically end when you have conquered the target. You must also try to keep it.
But sooner or later an event will fire that will end the Crusade. If you conquer more Muslim provinces around Tunis, the event to end that crusade will fire sooner.
As long as their is a crusade going on you will suffer a monthly piety-penalty. But for conquering the crusade target you should have received a large piety bonus already
The end of the crusade is by event .. so it is random when it will end. But it will end faster the more of the surrounding provinces that are in christian hands (don't have to be owned by you).

Yeah, it fired. Sadly, though, my ruler got sick, and I got realm duress. I turned England in to owning large tracts of North Africa, Brittany, the low counties and some parts of Germany, as well as half of Ireland.. It all went down the shitter.
