I doubt it, I think the priority for a while now is HOI2 and we'll see what comes after that. :)

Oh... I was thinking more like around 2008-2010, after HoI2 paradox has to concentrate on EU3 which they will release in 2007 :D

So it would not be a point to make EU3 either? That was even more than decent.

Ok how about:

1) lack of sales, I bought it for $5 at my job where we have tons of them.
2) Not much room to go anywhere, CK Killed that option.

Thats where Victoria and HOI come into play. You use the whole world, and they're both huge hits. I have every EU and Victoria, and HOI. Crown of the North is nothing like them. It's more for beginners, or on a smaller scale.

What I would like to see is a small-scale (geography) game with massive depth.

I agree. That could be a very good game.

well, EU evolved from the Svea Rike (COTN), so you can basically call EU/EU2 the direct successor of COTN.
You cannot really consider Europa Universalis a proper successor since it is not focusing on the same time and place.

Two Thrones can be counted as sequel.

You seem to be able to predict the future. :)
