Can anyone explain it? I've seen it mentioned on the forum quite a bit, but I've never actually seen it done or know what it means. Halp?

Let say you as a king of england Conquers every bit of a duchy in Ireland. After 100 years that duchy will be De Jure English, instead of Irish. Just turn on the De Jure Kingdom mapmode and look for areas with stripes. Then hover your mouse over that area and you can see how many years it got left.
