Hey CC I dont know when I will be leaving. I know I have to do boot camp but I will be going to collage before doing anything else so I can still play after fun camp. I have to go do some testing tonite and I should find out more then.

Burning I will be the first to say though the games here are good- most of the people here are...erhm rather how do you say it...werid? Strict? I don't know. For one Ive been to far more intelligent forums but have never seen such hostility over grammer. So just let it pass because there are many other's on this forum as well that are excactly like that.

Anyways I found out ''that little box thing'' was infact a router o but it connects all 3 computers in my house. What do I do with the router again? Turn it off? Or open ports with it? Should be able to play if I do this. Depending on how quick the response is I should be finished tonight and might be able to start a test game with one of you guys (before 10) tommorw. Oh and a question...Do I have to install the savegame? Or will it let me play the session even if I don't have it? Either way this is good news! I finnaly got off my fat ass and found out what the box was!

iron- good that you found out what that was. i don't bother testing with you, but i will be only online at 19:00 (GMT! 14:00 in east usa). another thing, do you have some sort of manual or something? i cannot help you at all if you don't know where you can configure your router (or if you don't tell me what kind of router you have, for example, a surecom or linksys). btw how can i comunicate with you? do you have ICQ or MSN?

about the savegame- i don't really know, but in most games if someone want to re-play a saved game, every player must have it, so i guess it is the same in CK

EDITED: many people will tell you to just shut down the router, and link your pc directly to your modem. you may try this, but since the configuration is diferent, i guess it will not work, at least it never worked for me.

Unless you have a really obscure kind of router, the stickied thread at the top of the forum should have instructions (specific to each brand) on how to open ports in it. You could try bypassing it, but that might have weird effects depending on drivers and stuff.

Ego, thank you for agreeing to use proper English; may I request that you add capitalisation and punctuation? It is the stream of consciousness that makes it so difficult to read, 'u' is just one symptom. (Incidentally, Iron, you might want to take this to heart also. Apostrophes are good, except when wrongly used. And I'm sorry to be so strict about it, but it really does make your posts more difficult to read, and it really does make you look like an overeager noob. Take your time : We probably won't read your post for a couple of hours anyway, you don't need to punch it out in one minute.)

Oh, about the savegame, you don't strictly need it, as the host will download it to you; but it's considered courteous to dl it anyway when it's available, as this saves time. We want to play, not sit about waiting for downloads to complete. Although it's not so important at this stage of the game, when the save is quite small.

Where did I use Apostrophes wrong? Anyways I'll check out my router soon and look in that thread. It says what ports I need open for Ck right?...ya it does never mind.

EDIT: Only reason I can't now is because my dad is sleeping (it's only 10!)

I think so)- I noticed that "newbie guide thread", which tells you how to configure a router, but unfortunately, there is one link broken (the one called "router setup for various routers"), and the others links just speak about routers that no one on earth uses. The "only" useful thing in that thread, is this:

I have a request - Since I'm playing as a female, when she dies, a country cousin would normally take over - which scares me. Cyrus suggested playing with Elective law, and playing that person when they take over...but the problem with that is that person may be sixty years old and unmarried, thus it could happen again. So, here's my question...would anyone mind if I married the Duchess to one of the minor courtiers in my court or in one of my vassal's court, and then play the heir from the marriage after she dies? It would be a new dynasty, true, but at least it would have the legitimacy of coming from the Duchess. Plus, I'd gain no title claims from it, since it would be a randomly generated courtier.

Just as a head's-up...a female ruler played by a human cannot marry someone outside of her own court, or it causes some major problems. I tested it out by marrying the Duchess to a random courtier in Venice, and it caused some weirdness. All of Toscana showed up with the Venetian COA, but the Doge of Venice didn't actually have it in his demense. I was in his court, but still had all of my land. Pretty weird. So, if I'm going to have her choose a husband from within her own court, or just die childless and get a retarded country cousin.

So were playing with Candidate G? Cool Already have it installed. Umm im gonna go now and find out my router and try to open the ports. If it isn't helpful I'll post what kinda router I have so Burning can help me!

EDIT: My router isn't there... Im gonna go look on google. Oh and btw my router is called Inexa (spelling might be wrong)

Since it says in the change log that prior saves may not be compatible, I would rather stick with Candidate G. I am open to suggestions though.

Well, I'm running the savegame under Candidate H on my SP installation, not running into any problems. I played about twenty years without any issues. But, we can always play it safe and wait til 1.05 comes out next week and upgrade then. I don't mind, either way.
