Hive mind processing aliens.
Decline progress = -20 = 5 months to purge each pop.
Each pop gives 6 food and 2 society research a month (+stability and governor bonuses, because I guess that makes it that much more delicious)

1 pop = 30 food and 12 society
2 pop = 60 food and 24 research 90 food and 36 society, because you get the full food and unity output of all of them even as you only kill one at a time.
40 pops = (1 + 40) * (40/2) = 820 pop-months of production = 24,600 food and 9,840 society. For a rival hive mind homeworld I conquered around 2223. Yeah that's cool.

Bump. So, had the thought that this could be even more abused when combined with resettlement.

Since only 1 pop dies at a time and at -15, this pile of pops will last forever as long as I'm capturing 2 pops a year. Or, capturing a 30-pop home world every 4.5 years. Of course, Fanatic Purifiers are far quicker than that, meaning the pile of slowly-burned slaves that works for no food, no CGs, and no housing can only continue to grow. I've actually far outstripped my natural pop's abilities to police them and work the alloys I need, should have waited 20-30 years rather than rushing immediately. I'd be getting more pops as well.

The unity is also insane, I've already gotten two groups (Expansion and Supremacy) filled out. I've invested exactly zero into unity, all from slaves.

Determined Exterminators could be the best at this, since a massive energy surplus is the easiest to convert to anything else. I think the Gestalts might not have to really police them either, but I'm not sure how bad deviancy is. It's mostly stability from massive numbers of unhappy pops that can nuke your stability when playing as a normal empire.

Great example of an unintended exploit in the new patch, I hope you also filed a bug report.
It's not really even a bug, it's just a consequence of the whole pop system. It'd take some serious thought to figure out how to make it more reasonable and non-exploititive without reverting to pre-2.2 mechanics.

Cool. You could also absorb the drones instead of getting mostly useless amount of food :/

Food is always pretty useful. The +25% growth decision effectively trades 1,111 food for 1 pop. I kind of screwed up the whole game by going too fast though, hence why I have a massive mineral surplus rather than a bunch of research and alloys (no pops to work the advanced structures)..

Can you eat them as livestock or do hives not allow that? Livestock are crazy good in this patch and they can with the right modifiers produce as much as processing them!

Hives definitely allow it, the screenshot before was a purifier empire doing forced labor. Doing processing however kills them at 4x speed rather than the 3x of forced labor. Forced labor is base 3 min/3 food/2 unity while processing is 6 food/2 unity. The robot version is 4x speed for just 6 energy, sadly. So looking at the numbers I'd say FPs are definitely the best option.

Yeah my friend started to purge enemy planets with a machine empire and went from +10 to +2000 energy per month...

Purging/assimilating/etc bonuses should be given after each pop or per pop. So either you get a one time bonus something when you finish purging/assimilating a pop, or you get the bonus production for every pop actually declining, not all that wait to be purged.

I really dont find this mechanich an abuse , just genocide empire working as intend . your enemies , rebellions and the lack of trade parteners should be whats going to stop you . ( I would really like if the markets would not be an infinite stockpile)

Working as intended?!?

Purging 1 pop on 10 planets earns you 10x.
Purging 10 pops on 1 planet earns you 55x.
