Just had an interesting experience while playing as Germany. My consumer goods demand skyrocketed to 116 (60% of factories) to be put in for CG. I had the country mobilized with war economy.

I've noticed that the game now implements strikes for Germany when you have the economy on a war footing and their isn't a war. I've often ignored it, but I have never seen that, tonight for a while at least, all my construction stopped dead because no civilian factories were available! Honestly, I may not have noticed for a while more, had I not got a warning message saying two trade deals had been cancelled due to no civvy factories being avaliable.

I de-mobilised back to partial mobilization but it seemed to take a couple of weeks game time before everything kicked in and started building again, and my consumer goods demand is a low 33.

This didn't happen when I played a run through yesterday....although maybe I'd gone to war before the penalties had kicked in, I'm not sure!

Regardless, has anyone else seen this? I knew the strikes were supposed to harm your economy, but I wasn't aware it was supposed to grind everything to a halt! Such things don't happen in dictatorships..........

Well I noticed the same thing, although there is a warning in the decision tree that if you do not demobilize before a certain number of days then you take massive strikes. But, I noticed that the consequence went away after I completed Anschluss.

Maybe it was the MEFO bills. If you fail to renew every 90(?) days you will get a severe malus to civilian factories.

I'm running the Road to 56 mod which has been made WTT compatible, and I have noticed the MEFO bills option isn't there. Maybe that's why, my run through yesterday, I wasn't playing the Road to 56 mod enabled and I was able to use MEFO bills.

Op....
I have a thread open about this. If your war support is less than 50% and you go into war economy either through focus of manually, you will get strikes. However, i dont know how to reverse the effects and had to restart my game.

MEFO Bills isn't in 56 at the moment, since I have to track down all the various flags / triggers / errant squirrels that are involved in the process. Plus, for now, dealing with the content conflicts in Nationalist China is taking priority.
