I noticed that you have cores on GH. Any reason you declared tribal feud instead of reconquest? Oh, and you missed the tool tip indicating who will likely honor the call to arms box didn't you? ;)

Part 9-mistakes

Oh how much It'd all gone wrong... I knew Crimea would've been tough for a first game but fdsogjsf. the Ottomans have abandoned me (well, we're still in an alliance but eh), Nogai won't do anything and I am yet again well and truly outnumbered. It's becoming quite the habit.

cuBrCdE.jpg

the Timurids have taken over as war leader and they know this. They're not willing to peace out under anything less than returning all my cores and annuling treaties with all my allies. Which isn't happening.

A man (I think) who I met gave me good advice once. "Let the Terrain win you the war," He'd said. I am not sure how to really use the terrain to my advantage..

But I could give It a shot.

In other news, Qara finished the ripping apart of Georgia, they'd simply been massacred by everyone.

8poOvfP.jpg

Well, at least we weren't the worst.

w62wUNZ.jpg

still, things were going far from great...

seeing that I had little to lose at this point, I set about attacking the army from the north, which consisted of G.H and Kazani troops, when suddenly:

wKGqBuN.jpg

8,000 men from Abkasia attacked me! This was good! Now, assuming I'm not massacred here, I could in theory have the numbers to kill both stacks!

NIqX2oL.jpg

Though I suffered notable losses, they were mainly infantry. I would attack the forces up in Lower Don, then camp there until the siege of Abkasia is done where I will get defensive bonuses.

yLRPtFL.jpg

It was only a matter of time before this happened..

Uzbek had arrived...

JgOrSKc.jpg

and just like that the plan...was ruined. We no longer had numbers, our troops had next to no morale. All I could do was watch as Crimea tumbled into the hands of just about anyone who joined the party.

O3nrJIV.jpg

It had all gone wrong...

Yeah, I don't know where to go now. Georgia is dead, let's face It-Lithuania could destroy us and now this. I wanted this to go on for a long time but eh, I might just take my chances for Kaffa (Genoa's last province here).

part 10-nowhere to go

Just before I start this, here's the map of Europe. I don't see any massive changes but you can pick out what you want from It.

L5FDP3d.jpg

anyhow, as we dive back into Haji I the mad's desperate plea for glory in an already lost war against half the world.

UkuzGvE.jpg

As you may be able to tell, I'm not too optimistic about this. Or in fact the entire future of this AAR. As others have pointed out there are no realistic routes of
expansion left. The Golden Horde now obviously have all these allies; Lithuania are just much, much stronger than me; Moldovia is the vassal of Poland.

Sigh.

All I could do was watch. No morale was left-in my troops or myself.

Though they weren't even happy with that. Kazani troops decided to abandon their unopposed siege to attack our low-morale troops.

VPWS28m.jpg

We had numbers, and a better general-

gb84cgu.jpg

I should've just played the Ottomans

With our capital being sieged-now what?

*sudden crash*

Upon start up for some reason a battle between the 0% morale Crimea and the minimul percent Kazani army happened as Crimea had too low morale to move
away, I don't know...

qj5Z1WB.jpg

But it didn't make any difference.

nx4lb3J.jpg

and then, just to rub dirt in the wounds or whatever the saying is, our lone buffer between us and the Timurids backed away.

biMfTHd.jpg

Why Changtai instead of us I have no clue.

Anyway, It'd finally happened-one siege had been finished. Everything I had wasn't enough to please the Timurids so the war trudged on, no possibility of ending soon.

JCurhqD.jpg

Since we had nothing to lose now, with the little forces we had left an assault was launched on Crimea.

PEEpzfB.jpg

losses were high, but:

zHk4mV6.jpg

At least we won something. Though yet again our forces were out or morale so we sat in Crimea. Waiting.

With 10k troops and almost full morale, Crimea next charged at the nearly-occuped lower Don, which had 5,000 G.H troops in it.

eCPfRR5.jpg

And with minimal casualties:

0JSrYn6.jpg

I was half tempted to go straight after the 9,000 Kazani stack after this luck but decided to go for the enemies below. This had been surprisingly successful but I wasn't going to let my hopes up.

*screenshot of victory screen*

We narrowly won that, though then another army came...

7OZcUcx.jpg

vH1whzs.jpg

And just like that, with one battle...It was just about over.

How do you hire troops normally?
There should be a icon next to the normal 'recruit troops' button in the province menu, although I'm not sure if there is some mechanic that prevents someone from recruiting them, none such exists afaik.
You can get loans from your income screen.

Part 11-Death, Pain and I

As the Crimean forces had been humiliated and almost destroyed, the King's advisor took It upon himself to hire merceneries. He hired one of '4x infantry' and one of '8x cavalry'. This would be Crimea's only hope at survival, one last shot.

UqvkPA5.jpg

Evidently we still needed more troops If we were to get through this, so I took out a loan and hired another one or two.

OsaG8Ta.jpg

we then got 8,000. It wasn't really enough but I had no money or manpower and more and more of my provinces were being sieged.

*sudden crash*

These are really beggining to happen a lot now...

Anyhow, I went straight away to re-getting the provinces that had been sieged before.

ctjLLCP.jpg

We stayed there for a while but progress was agonizingly slow, as the months went by several more provines got occupied, It was clear that If we didn't attack they'd reach our capital within no time.

0yBTXt4.jpg

There was an 11,000 stack with no leader just below us, they would be the best target.

8upVkyJ.jpg

Though for some reason the troops had next to no morale, and whilst we had a numbers advantage the battle was lost, and Crimea were forced to flee south.

6MVWygK.jpg

And that was the last time those troops were seen again. Before reaching the Golden Horde forces waiting in Kuban they all just dissapeared. This is still a mystery to historians, even today. There were no signs of bodies ever being found, after intense searching by enemy forces. 'The United Horde' as the alliance soon came to be known by simply assumed they had fled and continued to take control of the country. The only sign of their existance was found in a lone few scraps of paper...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dearest Diary,
Today we travel. The battle against the Kazani heathens had been a harsh loss, many close to me had been lost. My dearest friend, Muham, was killed before my eyes. The horror of It all. Rest assured though I will get revenge on the fiends of whom dare to step on glorious Crimean lands. They violate our lands. They think they can just...get away with It. Manych is a rightfully Crimean province, It's simply insane to suggest they should retaliate. But of course they didn't listen. Allah shall look down on them with pity, but will have no mercy. I can sense It in my toes-Crimea will be victorious!
Leading this glorious army is a man called Hari Rigar II. He will lead us to victory, our king is an incoherent madman but the people are not-
We are great...we are Crimean! The most prestigious of them all. We shall march down to the southernmost border where we will wait, and prepare a grand attack that will be like no other-through leadership and determination there will be only one outcome!

The Next day
Oh the vile, machiavellian beast that is fate-in the night he has taken many of our men! They lay bare on the ground. Throats slit and blood no-where to be seen. It must be a sign of Allah, We must be moving on soon. We have little time. Hari ordered us to abandon the bodies and ride on. Whether on foot or on horse. I personally rode on a fine white stallion, Its' mane gloriously fluttering in the wind, serene like the lands here and majestic like the country those lands make up. There is still no sign of any opposition challenging us. Undoubtedly they're all to scared to face our Crimean might. Though we may have lost some men what is the will of the people in the sky has to be obeyed. Those who don't shall suffer extreme consequences.

Later on...

Signs of cracks in the army's confidence are beginning to show, a low ranking man carrying only a spear and wearing only the poorest clothes had begun to beg of a halt, he said an angel had spoken to him. "Do not move on!" It had supposedly begged. "It will result in only death, all will perish before Its' footsteps, even
the Horde's. It doesn't care who It takes the life of. As long as there is blood..."

"Stop being so insane!" The general yelled, spitting on the ground before him.
"Bah," He muttered, before commanding us to trek on through the immense plains, leaving the deranged man behind. Fools, It's as If they want us to fail, to give up our might to those machiavellian foes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A few metres further under the mud another page was found.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It has been many days since we set off. Harij doesn't talk anymore. He just rides in front of us. The army is far depleted now, the remaining thousand of us are fearing the demons that watch the army. They strike at night, no matter what we do, or who stays awake there are always hundreds of the bodies in the morning; Their faces are cold, their skin is blue. Even Hajir could not stop It. He had tried to stay awake but by morn beside him lay bodies. But most haunting are the messages. On the floor lay a mysterious language-It must be works of the devil.

Мы идем, чтобы убить вас

Вернитесь в настоящее время или в другом месте!

I have taken note of the symbols, though I don't think there is much point, I doubt there is much time left for any of us-not even the great leader of this army is strong enough to hold back the wrath of hell...

It is a bad day for Crimea.

We had no-where to go anymore, in panic the last remaining hope for our nation has simply got lost. Whether they were in Crimea, Austria or Ming didn't matter now. Any hope of saving them was thousands of miles away though. Many of our soldiers say that help will come, and allah will not less die-but I don't think It will happen. I can feel It. We were all so optimistic at the start though now...what's the point. Though I'd never share It with those beside me I had realised that perhaps the nation I was born In, the Crimean Khanate, was not so great. We were surrounded in stronger nations. From Lithuania to the Golden Horde to the Polish-was there any real potential from the start?

A few hours later Harij called us to a halt, the stallion he was riding rearing up and bellowing. There was fear in Its' face.

"We shall stay here," He stated, though his once strong voice wavering with worry.

After dismounting the horse Hajir pointed at section of the army near the front-including myself.

"YOU!" He said to no-one in particular, "All you will stay up the night-kill anyone you see!"

that night

I stood shivering, back to the camp. My sword close to my chest I did nothing more than hope to Allah that all would be ok. Near me stood 49 other men, all the same as me: Crimean, somewhat well armed and terrified.

For most of the night It was all silent, not a sound in horizon. The sky was beautiful, a stunning shade of blue coated the landscape and yellow balls of who knows what shone magnificently. Simply amazing.

In the foreground a gaurd who was presumably looking at the view was rummaging about in the trees. I wanted to make sure he was ok so approched the brush, the man turned around and, to my horr

It ended there. The writing was translated to be Russian. Not the form of Russian back then but modern. It wouldn't come about for centuries to come.

Though one of the most horrifying things about this was where this was discovered. Not in Kuban, not even in modern day Ukraine.

But just outside Dodoma, the capital of Tanzania-this area was thousands of miles away from Ukraine and wouldn't be discovered for many years to come.

tzafrica.gif

Crimea would fall a matter of months after this. It's land would be split between Aq Qoyolono and the Golden Horde, all money discovered during the raids of the cities would be given to the rest of the United Horde. They would eventually unify and become the strongest power in Asia for 200 years until a new power would come out of nothing more than a rebellion and impact the world in a way no-one could've ever predicted.

It was called Russia.

Though as for Crimea, this was the end of the line. Ending with a mystery that will never be solved. Though Films would be made about the country. Documentaries, films of the diary before you. Many theories have been made but none are probably the real thing.

Haji I is said to have fled through Moldovia when Crimea's capital, Crimea, was invaded. Though upon entering Austria he was shot by a guard near the border.

The execution of Haji's adviser was written about in a now famous Uzbeki book. It's title was never properly translated, just adding to the questions. The writing, though, was translated and even to this day, March the 8th, 2014 It is still one of the best selling books.

Crimea's story may have ended just a bit too soon, but It's legacy will last for many years to come.

The end.

If you enjoyed this, given that one or more people did, I will be more AAR(s) in the future (probably an extended timeline one) but I'm not sure who to play.
