Yeah, Just before the actual coup, I was planning one myself, along with Talbott, and Amric and Admiral Tulp would have completed the conspiracy. I'm giving this info since it can no longer hurt me.

That was never a coup...well, it would have resulted in me taking power, but by perfectly legal means. Talbott may be a conniving little bastard, but he still has some respect for the law.

Hence Talbott's rush to the Council of State--if he couldn't pull off the Presidency himself, he wanted to at least get rid of Fourgeres by the original means he had planned.

Question about the rules.

The VP is the Speaker of the legislature. Does this mean that the Speaker/VP is elected by the legislature, appointed by the President it has been previously, or do the President and VP finally have to run a joint ticket?

I did approach you at one point (check your PM box again)--but when you didn't respond (I think you were away at the time), and Habsburg had his passport difficulties.

It always sounded much more illicit than it was--we were never doing anything illegal, nor did we plan to (well, as far as I know).


Anyway, on another note:

I was going to have my next character (don't worry, not for a term or two) have the last name of Sykes...no reason we can't have a Jim Sykes and a Carl Sykes running around Eutopia at the same time, right?

The way I think we're going to do it is that the Speakership is elected, and whoever is the Speaker becomes the VP. There definitely won't be joint tickets (it would rather go against the grain of elected Ministries.)

The locations of most PCs can be divined, simply because gameplay demands communications. If anyone is really trying to be incommuncado, they can say so. Otherwise, I'd assume you can contact anyone.

Yes. You now vote for one ticket. That ticket is weighted by the cabinet positions your party is trying to get. We may need to flesh that rule out a bit.

Btw, Aussieboy, the Eutopian Navy has allready been uhm....relocating back to the mainland. We didn't take any hits ourselve really, though the Tilapians were badly hit.

Yes, the war has essentially ended. Check the events.

Cliffs Notes version: The Eutopian Air Force was all but wiped out by a Cuban ambush, though the Eutopian Navy suffered zero losses. Maybe a few of the Thorn's engine guys got burned or banged around when the engine blew up, but other than that, nothing.

The Tilapians on the other hand, lost a Knox Frigate and 10 of their carrier-based aircraft, for total casualties near about 200. They did level a base and destroy two Cuban frigates in the process though, while the Eutopians blew up a sub and the Eutopian air force knocked down several MiGs.

The Cubans bombed the Eutopian base on the Turks and Caicos Islands, land owned by the British. In response, the British and Americans unleashed holy Hell on Cuba, killing Presidente Castor in an airstrike. Eutopia is currently under absolutely zero threat from Cuba. Not sure how Von Hapsburg got the impression otherwise, but he might look mighty silly now.
