Just saw someone point this out on reddit.

For those who don't know, Creatures of the Void is the name of the pre-order portrait pack currently in production.

From the Creatures of the Void description.

Five additional alien races exclusive to pre-order customers, each inspired by design suggestions from the community. These dark, creepy, and twisted creatures include: Hydra/Xenomorph, Evil Porcupine, Dinosaur Bird, Shadowy Anthropoid and Fungoid Infected Mammalian, with which to populate the galaxy.

For the longest time my brain read it as Arthropoid, the insect species group in the base game, but it's actually Anthropoid, meaning a higher-primate.

Is this a simple typo or are we indeed getting an ape-like portrait?

Need clarification. Though I think it's simply a typo

Anthropoid means only that the figure looks more like a human rather than any other alien body type. For example, the Predator from same-named movie is anthropoid, as I see

I was thinking of the suborder Anthropoidea, but it seems that there's 2 similar definitions for the word:
1. resembling humans.
2. belonging or pertaining to the primate suborder Anthropoidea, characterized by a relatively flat face, dry nose, small immobile ears, and forward-facing eyes, comprising humans, apes, Old Worldmonkeys, and New World monkeys.
