I want to pick the provinces of the vassals I create. I also want to be able to create any vassal that I like. Or at least I want more freedom in adding or subtracting provinces when creating vassals. And perhaps renaming vassals. I'm fond of minoritys, languages, ethnic and cultural belongings. To play EU for me is to replay history, I simply want these changes to be able to perform my brave new world. Isn't what it's all about, being Napoleon. How many vassals didn't that 'player' create!?!
I also want to be able to conquer a foreign nations capital city and recieve it in a peace agreement even if its an major power. Think for example that Sweden should be able to regain the provinces lost to Russia 1721, not a totaly irrelevant scenario, but quite impossible since the Russian capital is moved to these provinces. I can give more examples like this and I don't think these changes distort the historical relevancy too much, at least not compared to what the AI sometimes brings about - I remember how upset I was that England was able to contain supremacy of Lappland (and no other Swedish province) during a few hundred years during one of my games. And I wasn't even playing Sweden at the time. I suppose I am something of a controlfreak.

yeh i find that if you're say, russia, and you release ukraine, you often get land going furthur west. but you might want to give it all over to the western border as well, if you conqueed moldavia etc.

there should be possibilities like in HoI2, and even more

(renaming nations, for a released puppet you can define some minus/surplus cores, flag, ect.)

Not cores. You should be able to release a vassal with less than its full set of cores, but they'll still have a claim on them, and if they break out of your alliance and join the enemy, they definitely should be able to go after them.

Alexandre
but if you rename them then they become something different, what could have different cores

Playing a game as Ethiopia, I had to release some vassals because the stupid Mamelukes wouldn't accept a reasonable peace deal and I ended up turbo-annexing everything but their capital. That got me thinking, I'd love to release vassals with my state religion (and of course my choice of provinces). I only two vassals to release (Kingdom of Jerusalem, Tripoli) one being Muslim and the other hard-coded to be Catholic. (And they were only one province each, still leaving me with 23+ BS badboy points. :))

Now of course I can cheat and edit the revot.txt, but that's not as much fun. :(

There should be many sorts of vassals to release, I mean releasing provinces you don't have cores on and you do not share culture or religion with is a rule for me. And I think it's about time that the AI learns how to release vassals too (for example getting provinces with a different culture, religion and no core, should in AI terms equal release a vassal).
