Hi everyone,

I have been playing in br empire at the moment, and having a really interesting game. I started around the duchy of Athens,

As the game has been progressing I have been securing greek lands to try and create the kindom of greece.

But somehow the kingdom of Cyprus was opened up to me.

I did not even know this kingdom existed, or could be created.

The only prerequisite was that I was of catholic religion?

How did this open up to me? is there more stuff in the background?

If I just started a new game in played in the dutchy of Cyprus and converted to Catholic religion would it open the kingdom up to me straight away?

We have Richard the Lionheart to thank. :D

And Holy Roman Emperor Henry VI, who gave the lord of Cyprus the Royal Crown, which promoted him to king of Cyprus.

Furthermore not Guy, but his successor Amalric (a younger brother) was the first king of Cyprus. Guy OTOH was former jure uxoris king of Jerusalem and still had a claim, but he was lord of Cyprus (Cyprus itself wasn't yet promoted to a kingdom).
