Most likely have to wait for a Dev Diary, but will we be able to make our own Patrician Families in the Ruler Designer and by using this will there be a way to create our on republics? Similar to how you can start off with the Sultanate of England, or the Catholic Turkish Empire.

I hope so, but currently selecting which government type you have is not possible through the ruler designer, unless you've selected a character who is already of that government type.

The next best thing is to load up a king, give a mayor a county and duchy level title, save, then load up as them. If you want to customize them, you could first customize a count, revoke his title, then give him a mayor, count, and duchy level titles.

My question is, say, I am the King of Wales, and I give a county to a Mayor, that county then becomes a republic right? If I load the game and play as this new republic, will it have the same new mechanics of republics ? Or only the major republics are playable, like Genoa, Venice etc?

I think it would be neat if eventually you could play as the Doge of the Greek Pagan Republic of Athenai whose goal is to restore the Athenian Trade Empire
