Creating Francia as Emperor of France

So I'm a proud Frankish Emperor... Fate brought me from the count of Paris to the Chatenois Emperor Gerhard III of France.

However, as the proud Frank I am, I prefer being called the Emperor of Francia. I'm able to form it easily, but that'll make me a double emperor while having gavelkind...

Is there any way I can switch these titles, without causing chaos and mayhem during my inevitable succession (seperating France/Germany from the rest)? Because with gavelkind, I can't just destroy titles. So destroying Empire of France wouldn't work, right?

Well if you could rename "France" to "Francia"...

Or you change your succession law to something else than Gravelkind before Fancia loses its dejure territory

Well if you want to keep Gravelkind (for whatever reason) then you'll have to live with the restrictions of Gravelkind...

And why gavelkind? Because once I start using primogeniture, all my dukes will do the same and because of their dynastic entanglement, the whole realm is in control of one vassal within no time...

If you want to keep Gavelkind, your going to have to accept the fact that the titles will likely split after your character dies. You should only use one emperor title so your realm won't split, but your titles will. You can also only change succession laws once per lifetime.

If you want to be called Emperor of Francia you can rename the title name.
