Creating Faction

Hello everyone,

I am a king Zoroastrian under the Abassid Caliph. I am wondering if there is a way for me to understand why sometimes I cannot create faction and other time i can.

I understand the traits can do something. However, my current ruler who has the Content trait was able to form faction. Now, I cannot anymore. I did get the Kind trait at some point and wondering if that did something.

When I hover on my liege to see all the bonus/malus to see if there is something indicating anything, there is no "accepted to stay out of faction"....

So i am just wondering if there was a way to understand this part of the game.

Could there be a cool-down period after forming a faction, previously?

Where you in faction before and got booted out of it by Caliph's spymaster action? Do you have marriage ties with the Caliphs that would force non-aggression pack? There is also the part where you are on the council and the council is content. Some council law makes it so content council members cant join factions.

Are you planning to form faction to press your own claim on Caliph's Empire?

I am indeed on Council but as I remember the council was discontent. So I guess there is really no easy ingame indication on this situation... Thank you all for your answers.

After rethinking it, I am not eager anymore to go independent as there is this Chia kingdom which formed few years ago with their 20k stack.... they are not so far so I will play along those Sunni Kings/Emperors and get this Chia kingdom down to a more reasonable army size
