Hi willing reader,

In my opinion Stellaris lacks depth and diversity regarding the empire and not-so-alien aliens you play and encounter in the galaxy. Playing a new empire or meeting generated one feels pretty much the same. Judging by what I have read on the internet over time I am not alone with this, so I wondered – why not assemble and expand a mega mod, as there are several for other PDX titles already? Also the workshop is full with compatibility patches for using overlapping mods, which are a real pain in the arse.

The mod’s primary goal ist to improve general diversity of empires and species but as a long run I see this as a project to improve the overall immersion of Stellaris. There are a lot of good mods on planet diversion for expample that would fit greatly in the picture.

Guess the name should be something with… unknown, alien… or maybe something more straightforward, I am all ears for suggestions. Namewise and contentwise.

I am aware that balancing those features is important. Yet, Stellaris is not well balanced to begin with, hence it is not the main concern.

Core features:

  • More species portraits
  • More species traits
  • More civics
  • More traditions
  • More ascension paths (probably reworking shroud)
  • Species origins (possibly, if creator agrees, including: )
  • Empire battle characteristics (gamelong bonus and malus for ships)
  • More Ship designs

And generally some tweaks and small bits I find on the workshop. Especially the AI mods (Enhanced and Glavius) will certainly be included, if they are okay with it.

Are there any road blocks I am not seeing? I am familiar with coding and moded PDX titles in the past. Any help is appreciated.
