Create a forum for LPs

I used to read a lot of AARs (Especially for EUIII and VII) and went to take a look at the EUIV AAR forum, missing some reading.

I... was not impressed. Finding an AAR which was: 1. Not gameplay oriented; 2. Not a LP; and 3. Of acceptable quality; proved to be a really annoying and tedious task. So, if there are so many LPs for EUIV, why not create a sub-forum specifically for them? Or at least create a way for them to be tagged as either a written AAR or an youtube video and add an option for thread display to better handle it.

I don't see how separating them wouldn't be beneficial. Personally, I don't have the time or the motivation to go through youtube videos for EUIV and would rather read some good old AARs instead, and I am sure that there are more people like me. Likewise, if someone wants to read a LP, he wouldn't have to waste as much time browsing the forums for one which would fit his tastes. They have enough difference between themselves to warrant some kind of separation between both.

Back in the old days, AAR's were basically lets plays. Now its turned into storywriting. Maybe we should split AAR into stories & playthroughs.

I support OP's notion. AAR section should be divided into video and picture-based subcategories.

For me at least the key thing that differentiates AARs and Let's Plays is not so much the form of storytelling (story vs. gameplay) but that the latter just takes so much longer to watch. When I have a basic gameplay AAR with tons of pictures, it still doesn't take more than a few minutes to scroll through the whole story. Conversely as much as I'd like I don't have the time to spend hours and hours watching a Let's Play.

Maybe put tags in the thread titles. [LP] or [AAR]. Or [VLP] and [WLP] video and written lets plays.

Should be easy to find what you want then.

YouTube isn't perfectly accessible from certain parts of the world, like, er, China.

I agree with this, no offence to gameplay AARs (most of them are brilliant) but I would like a way to filter for the more text and story heavy ones.
