So, I played a game recently where, as the King of Scotland, Dal Riata, and Ireland, I used the magic decision button to form an empire. This was really cool, because I found myself working very hard, with a fairly old ruler, to acquire the necessary realm size, prestige, and wealth to meet the criteria for the decision. After finally pressing the button, I was very pleased to find it immediately de jure! Given all the work I had done, this felt like a just reward for my accomplishments.
Currently, I'm playing a test game while com-patching Ancient Religions for HIP. I've run into a few bugs, but that's not what I want to talk about. My first ruler expanded more slowly than usual (in Ireland) for various reasons. With Gavelkind and his poor health, I new I needed to get a kingdom for my four duchies (and my four sons). As opposed to creating the empire, creating a kingdom was easy. So long as I had three duchies, realm size wasn't a question. The prestige and wealth criteria were quite low, if they even existed - I never had to worry about them, at least. So imagine my shock when the resulting kingdom of Mide took a huge de jure chunk out of the middle of Ireland.
In the short run, this is too much reward; I shouldn't have de jure casus belli if fragmentation occurs - that's way too resilient for what this decision is trying to model, as far as I can see it.
In the long run, this is aesthetically displeasing. If I form Ireland, I would want this new Kingdom incorporated within it, for both personal and gameplay reasons.
So, this spawns two questions:
1.) Is there any way I can convince the HIP team to make these formable kingdom-tier titles titular? Failing that, how can I do so myself?
2.) Is there any way I can make these titles more customizable? Both the Empire-tier "Kingdom of Ireland" and the kingdom-tier "Kingdom of Mide" were somewhat underwhelming. Is there a way I can make the former properly read "Empire?" Can I implement anything that would allow me to select the political-map color of these entities?
