While we are waiting for Stellaris to release, and the upcoming youtube videos, I thought it might be fun to discuss the mod ideas that have been floating around in our heads.

Pokemon mod:

-Pokemon are races that are discovered through anomalies, extra-galactic invasion waves, proto-civilizations, uplifting.
-More powerful pokemon are less 'controllable', you will need pokemon mastery traits to control them, lest the turn on you.
-Evolution is theoretically possible through modification techs
-Pokemon will be able to live on planets normal races will not be able to live on-i.e Moltan for fire etc.

I thought of several ideas of how this mod might play out, but having Pokemon settle in waves might be best for getting them all to appear. A pre-scripted galaxy might work as well, but it might get stale.

Dwarf Fortress event mod:

For 'losing is fun' fans. Anomalies from stories the users have told on the dwarf fortress forums such as:

-Dwarves.
-Undead bacon
-Magma Cannons
-Bronze Colossus ships
-Evil Planets with: Evil dusts, Bloody rain, undead raising.
-Good Planets with: Killer unicorns
-Goblin Christmas
-Catsplosions
-Vampires, Werecreatures, crones, dragons.
-Mysterious pullable swords on top of rare adamantite resources.
-Forgotten beasts
And other stuff from Dwarf Fortress. True to form, everything will be weaponizable.

Totally not wacky or zany, but I want a survival mode.

You start as the only species in a 400 star galaxy. You are given 200 years to get ready (till 2400). After this, you are barraged by ceaseless endgame disasters which you need to defeat all by yourself, and they don't let up. There is no way to win; you can only play for as long as you can survive. Or maybe have the "victory" be at year 3000.

Would be fun.
