Most annoying... new to the game and everytime I get to 7th Nov 1944 the game crashes and nothing gets it past that date.... any ideas anybody

oddity, righty more info please about the current game? Game history (crop to the last dozen actions in the log)?
Similar problem for me as Italy at midnight on December 13th 1941. I don't think recent actions are the key as I've reloaded the autosave back in October a few times and thus made different choices while reaching this date, all to no avail. The game freezes as if paused, letting you order units around but not letting them move. I'm using 1.05 currently, as the 1.06 patch download keeps claiming to be corrupted when I try to run it.
If you really want to play 1.05, at least get 1.05C, as the 13/12/1941 crash is a known bug that was fixed in later versions.
