2.6.1.1 SKBW

Loads previous games just fine but crashes upon quit (CK2 has stopped working).

Creating a new game is impossible, as it'll crash (CK2 has stopped working) once the loading bar goes Loading Game... .

No problems previously obviously. How is it every time I want to play CK2 it'll give problems to me?

Verified cache, same. Disabled Reapers Due DLC, same.

Do I have to *sighs loudly* make a clean re install--again?

Attached DxDiag, there are a few CK2 crashes report down there. Anything else I should attach? Any other info needed?

Thanks

Have you done a clean re-install since 2.6.1.1 ? If not you could try just deleting documents/paradox/ck2/gfx/ folder, that's the usual culprit for such things.

Nope, still crashes after deleting the gfx folder. Will try a clean re install soon and update here.

I understood you to be saying before that the game will run once immediately after a clean re-install, just not again after that until a new clean re-install. Was that so? If so, did it run OK that once after this clean install too?

If so, does deleting just the gfx folder now work?

What about settings.txt ?

No, I didn't do any clean re install prior to the original first post. After updating to SKBW and installing Reaper's Due, the game could load previous save files fine but couldn't make a new game.

Then I posted here. I first tried deleting just the gfx folder, and it still happens. Doing the clean re install (yesterday), and it still happens.

Video: https://vid.me/ue6E. 1366x768 for now, I'm using my second monitor. Settings.txt has been attached.

Curiously enough, earlier era seems to work fine. 1317 crashes it. Any ideas?

Game seems to crash for any character at the 1January of 1317. I also got it for the duke of Cyrenaica, king of Egypt and the german emperor.

Discovered the issue.
It crashes as soon as you go back to an earlier date when manually changing the start date, while going backwards in bookmarks seems to work.

Workaroud:
Select an earlier bookmark first and only go foward when choosing the start date, never backwards.
This way i could also start with the Sheik Umar of Cyrenaica in 1.1.1317.

edit:
amendment on workaround:
Actually going backwards in itself is probably not the issue, now after i checked it, It's selecting a date after the one you want to start and going back then.

So for instance selecting the 1337 bookmark, going backwards and trying to start in 1317 or
selecting the bookmark for 1220, going forward manually a hundred years to 1320 and then back to 1317.

Posted a bug report: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/foru...n-the-start-date-causes-crash-at-load.969536/
