Crashes pretty much anwhere

Hi- Have Rome patched up to 1.3. Just starting playing on XP. Game crashes sometimes on startup, very frequently at the start menu and also during gameplay (if I've made it that far).It's much more likely to crash when I scroll across the map, either in game or when selecting a faction or start date.

You should check for updated video drivers, but this is of some concern:

I've not seen that before but it seems to indicate some serious Windows problem. Can you run all the tests on each tab of DXDAIG?

Hi ran the tests. I've attached the updated dxdiag. Everything else I'm playing on the system is stable. (RTW, M2TW, Oblivion). This is the only one that crashes all the time. Sometimes i'll get as much as 2hrs gameplay out of it, but it's always slightly jarry scrolling across the map. I updated the graphics card from the ati website, but was told no update was actually required when I installed it.

Well that can't be so, your driver is way old. I think this is the right one for you http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownlo...spx?type=2.4.1&product=2.4.1.3.1&lang=English , it's only a few days old.

If you're having trouble installing drivers, it might be best to uninstall your current drivers first and use a program like DriverCleaner Pro to make sure every last trace of them is removed. Reboot your machine (you'll notice that your screen resolution will probably have changed; don't worry, that's normal) and install your latest drivers. Reboot again and you should be good to go.

Tried installing the update, but get message 'cannot find compatible hardware on the system'. Any suggestions?

Is the only thing to reinstall the drivers completely. if so how do I do that?
