Crash when enforcing demands on Byzantine Empire [Great Holy War][Germanic Pagan]

Iron Man mode game.

I play as Fylkir of the Empire of Denmark.

I am sole participant in a Great Holy War against the Byzantine Empire.

I am at 100% war score.

When I enforce demands, the game crashes and picture freezes. The mouse still responds, but there is no interaction, game time freeze and no map scrolling. Alt+Tab does not work. Game can be shut down by going to the Task Manager and ending the process.

I tried letting game time run and waited for a naturally occurring auto-save. This did not change the outcome of enforcing demands.

I tried offering both white peace and surrender. Both these options work fine and the game continues as normal (I used Task Manager to kill the process, to be able to try all three on an IM save)


All DLC enabled, except silly, silly Sunset Invasion =P also some unit, portrait and song packs, please ask me for details if relevant.



I did find something strange in the system log.

My system runs Win7 Home Premium SP1, has 4 GB ram of which CKII usually consumes half when running.

The game certainly appeared to freeze when I hit the Enforce Demands option. But after about 2 or 3 minutes it completed, and the War Over dialog came up.
Now I'm on a top-end iMac with32gb of memory, so it's possible your machine with 4gb of memory and an Intel video card will take a long time to do the same.
Try just waiting ... !

Hmm, should be geforce 540M with 1GB vid ram for the CKII executable according to my nvidia settings. I'll give it a go and let it do it's calculations. Cheers mate =)

The game may be running on the Intel instead of teh nVidia - use the nVidoa Contol Centre, 3D Settings, to force ck2game.exe onto the nvidia.

Also that system memory=1gb thing means that either steam.exe or ck2game.exe are running in a compatibility mode. Right-click on both, properties, compatibility, and un-check everything there. Hit Apply then Apply to All Users.

Thanks for a third time. Steam was running vista compatibility for some strange reason
