Crash on startup - Loading database..

Hi everyone,

I bought Crusader Kings II and all DLC on Steam yesterday. I installed it, played it, and it worked perfectly fine. :happy:

Today, I installed my new Nvidia GTX 560TI 2GB gfx-card including the latest driver. Since this hardware and driver change, Crusader Kings II stopped working, since it crashes at the loading screen (loading database).

I have tried the following:

I. A clean re-install (about 5-6 times), no result.
II. Downloading the C++ packages following a certain step-by-step manual from this forum, no result.
III. a clean re-install with cache-control in Steam (about 3 times), no result.

What should/could I do next?

Here's what I mean by a clean re-install:

- move any valued save games elsewhere
- "delete local content" in Steam-CK2
- manually delete all files and folders left under Steam/CK2 AND Documents/Paradox/CK2
- re-install game in Steam, run a Steam Verify when done.

It's vital to delete all files (except save games) and folders from both locations before reinstalling.

I did a re-install again this morning, and now everything works.
