I've had a problem since I got Rome Gold. Basicly my game crahes everytime I try to quit. After Isave and then push the quit button it lags for anywhere from a few seconds to a few up to an hour, then I get a message that the game has stopped working and needs to close. It causes my computer to be forced into a shutdown if I want to shutdown. It states a program is causing a foced shutdown but doesn't specify which program, though this is the only newly instlled program in the computer. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I don't think I've gotten patch 2.3 to work. Is this a problem fixed by the patch or should I check on this? Also this may be irelivant, but when I installed it on another computer it said there was an exception when I tried to open the game.

Please report the version # and checksum; they should show on the main game menu but some folks can only see them by starting an MP game as host - please do that and report back.

The version is 2.2. I don't know what the other thing is. It hasn't been causing any problems, but my mom is concerned it will cause some damage. Thank you.
You should patch to the latest, 2.32c. If your version is from Paradox or GamersGate, in the game launcher click on "check for updates". Download the file and execute it - make sure it points to the same directory you have Rome installed into.
If you have the game from another downloader like Impulse or Direct2Drive, check with them for their version of that patch.
But you can reassure your mother that Rome crashing on exit will not damage anything. If it was crashing Windows so you had to reboot, that's a different matter.
