crash at language choosing

ive just reinstalled ck2, everytime i try to boot up the game it works fine until it gets to the choosing language before i can choose a language it crashes on me, I've try to reinstall steam and ck2 and run in compatibility mode but nothing works

Based on older cases as this, go to Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings 2, open settings.txt.

I probably lacks the has_set_language=yes line.
Add it, so it looks as in this example:

gui=
{
    language=l_english
    has_set_language=yes
}
graphics=
...

I just had this problem as well today and ended up reinstalling twice (once from Steam Backup files and once from fresh redownload)
