Since the new DLC the game crashes after the first loading screen. The music starts briefly, then the game is gone.

I play on PC (Microsoft Gamepass) without mods.

I have tried so far:
- to repair the data and and have "clean" reinstalled several times.
- Vsync off, refresh rate at 60
- Full screen optimization disabled and started the game as admin
- Disable antivirus program

Everything without success.

I just got the same problem, it worked before but now it crashes. The game launches, it loads, the music starts, the music stops for like two seconds, the music starts again, 1 sec goes by and it crashes. I have also tried the things you list.

So I tried it on another computer. The exact same thing with the music and all. Very odd.

The pdx_settings file you sent in does not reflect that.

Full screen optimization disabled and started the game as admin
The game should not be set as Admin, that causes problems itself. This still happens when it is NOT Admin?

What fps rate do you see in the game just before it crashes?

I see some crashes in the MS Gaming App and Xbox app there:
+++ WER4 +++:

Problemsignatur:

Check they are up to date.

And is the game installed in the old default place under C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\ ? Or one of the new places C:\Xbox Games\ or D:\XboxApps\ ?

If the former, best to uninstall it and re-install in one of the latter locations.

Because I reset the settings because it didn't work for me.

I just tried it. Still crashes.

It jumps between 57 - 61 fps, than stopps at 49 and crashes.

I check it, both up to date. I just uninstalled and reinstalled it as a precaution.

On C:\XboxGames\Crusader Kings III\
befor that it was on D:\XboxGames\Crusader Kings III\
because i tried a different drive.

I don't know then. What if you make a new Windows user on this machine and log into it with that. Any better?

When I create a new windows user it works. I tried swapping the then newly created folders
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\ParadoxInteractive.ProjectTitus_**************
with the folder in my real account but it syncs again and it crashes. Holy sh** :-(

But thanks for your help so far.
I hope you have more ideas

Edit:
I contacted Microsoft support. Of course, they refer to Paradox. They tried to fix something, but said that nothing can be changed in the cloud storage

What if you flag that folder as Read Only before you go back online again?

Just tried with my girlfriends xbox login and this works like a charm.
So somehow this is indeed linked to the MS profile.
As you already tried to solve this with MS, but sent you back to Paradox I think Paradox should have a word with MS then.

So this is her Xbox account but your copy of this game attached to your account, in some way? Sorry, I'm not really across how Xbox accounts work in that respect!

The other thread on this issue now finds the same thing - it works with one profile but not another. For them it happened immediately after a game crash, perhaps that corrupted the profile in some way.

We have no way of fixing profiles I'm afraid! Is that something you can take up with Windows or Xbox account support?
