Out of curiosity, what does that mean?
I am looking at portrait_properties right now, and try on tweaking them so they work with the other mods I use. However, I am experiencing some problems, and I don't know why yet. So I'd want to make sure it's not that thing you are speaking of, whatever that may be

Basically your text files could have different line break conventions. In my case, some files had CR+LF while others had LF, so when I copy-pasted between files that had different conventions it caused corruption that could only be seen when you actually checked the EOL (End of Line) convention. If you are using Notepad++, you can check it via View -> Show Symbol -> Show End of Line. Edit -> EOL Conversion is another useful tool.

CPR Plus (technically renamed CPRplus) is now officially a part of HIP, so you can install it through the HIP installer.

Will there be the option to use some but not others. Not a fan of lunatic or possessed as I reckon they're a tad far but the others look top! Irrc the description for possessed seems to describe epilepsy, which back in the day would be seen as some sort of possession.

One single file controls portrait layers, so that will be difficult. I will make sure to write how to manually disable trait-based graphics in FAQ, though.

Any chance you'll introduce blindfolds? Everything except possessed looks stellar. (although the possessed one, for what it is, looks AMAZING, sombody call the Winchesters!) A creepy smirk could work for lunatic, but I rather like the unhinged grin. I'd be ok with either.

I truly wish things were that easy. A grin or a smirk would mean a thinner mouth. A thinner mouth means it won't cover the characters mouth behind it. If I cover it with skin, I would have to make hundreds of graphics for each skin tone. It's a similar deal with the possessed eyes. They are rather big, and that is to ensure it covers the eyes on every portrait set. Modding portraits is about compromise. You never get exactly what you wanted originally.
However, I am planning on making the possessed eyes less supernatural.
I also want "blinded" to be a blindfold instead.

How would I go about reverting to the original female Western face gfx ? Not a knock against your work, but my preference is for the original female Western faces - esp for the Urzhailian culture.

You'll need to delete gfx/western_male and female folders in HIP as well as change the number of frames for Western face assets found in portrait_sprites.gfx. You basically need to restore vanilla frame numbers for sprites that have "western" in them.

The next version of CPR make installation of the new Western and Muslim faces optional. Portrait files will also be reorganized so that you can choose only specific portrait sets that have the Western or Muslim face to use the default or CPRplus one. So waiting is another option.

That's the more sensible option. Those faces are literally the stuff of nightmares.
