I noticed recently that the percentages for coverage on tasks can be strange. Before building a new line in a new area of my city, the overall completion percentage of the task was 80%, but when I built the line, the coverage rose to 96% for a few moments before plummeting down to 76%. Just wondering why this happens, because building a new line definitely shouldn't lower overall coverage.

Coverage % is based on passenger demand not physically how many buildings/streets are within your network (or at least, that's how I understand it). Presumably the people in the newly covered section want to travel to somewhere else that you haven't yet covered.

EDIT: It also fluctuates by hour and day (e.g. cims travelling to work in the morning have different destinations to those going shopping on an evening or at weekends).
