Good morning fellow medieval rulers,

I would like to ask a question about managing county matters. I have not been playing CK2 for some time, I have ended roughly at version 1.04, when I run into incompatibility issues of my saved games with newer game versions. Now I came back, reasy to start a new campaing. I am pleased with new functionality added to the game in the meantime, I like the availability of new plots llike forging claim on county/duchy. I have all the DLC's released as of now.

So, I have started a game and after a year or two of ingame time, I have realised, that my barons, coty mayors and bishops are not creating/having their own little courts anymore. Did PI change this in patches? Because on Spring, when I was playing, I was used to a certain tactic when deposing a count/duke I dislike, for being too powerfull and having too many counts and dukal titles. I got rid of him (and his family) and installed new, low power counts/dukes. And for them, I was looking into courts of barons, mayors and bishops, for my own reasons I have tried to find a person in those barony level courts, who was coming from the county capital and had the same culture as people living in that county + being a catholic to spread this religion.

Now I have got kinda stuck, that I deposed a count in Poland (being a Czech and Polish King) and I am unable to "recruit" any Polish candidate on count in that county, because barony level courts are gone/not being created. Also, if I invite a noble to my court, his culture is always Bohemian...

Anyone can help me, or at least explain the changes? Is there any mod that would reintroduce barony level courts?

Thank you,

Mlekar

aye baron level chars have no courts (councillors) anymore.
The only way to populate baronies is to get them married and hope for children. I try that atm with my majors to get the male ones educated with good stewardship so they get choosen to take over the city. come to think of it i never checked it it actualy works. BUT the stewardship of the wife also improves the tax rate so if you got some wifes to spare get the mayors some anyways.

Barony courts slow the game down massively, I do not think they were ever in the game. Persons will be sent to bishops by yourself and the ai because you don't want them to marry. Persons also used to flee to towns when there were imprisonment attempts against them - this was stopped. The AI will not actively look to increase its court but they can receive some members into their court from other ways.

If you are looking for courtiers look in the character searcher. Select vassals and of my culture, then men etc etc. People are still around, if anything there are now too many people with the current patches.
