Could you make a court with troubadours? It would simply look poets and collect, for example, five, that the Lord will get a bonus. Something akin to achieve a government of geniuses. what do you think?

This would make excellent Occitan, Spanish, and Italian mid-game flavour. There were similar traditions in Germany and northern France that should be localized.

can you elaborate? what kind of events do you want?

VIET immersion had an event chain for african Griots where you could host performances with them. The Griot would have number of different performances that he could tell from telling of your genology, to epic heroic events, and religious stories.

Adapting them for say other cultures and religions, such as the Irish and the Norse is something I want to do for my submod. This could be adapted for Troubadours as well. I don't know if other cultures had such a tradition but if they did then they can be adapted for them as well. :)

It's an excellent idea. Can we agree on the features of this submod? I have a lot of information about the culture of the troubadours. Also, poetry was a way of cultural connection between different cultures, establishing areas. Arabic poetry is an example. The poetry of the troubadours marked an area that included the entire Iberian Peninsula (pardon the poetry in Galician) throughout Italy, France, England and Germany. That does not mean that there were troubadours in French or German, but poetry in Occitan was the king during a period.

Well my submod is principally aimed atm at expanding Paganism, specifically Northern Paganism(so Finnish/Slavic/Norse/Baltic), but I can easily expand the scope to focus on cultural improvements of other parts of the world.

The VIET Griot Mechanic works like this from what I can tell.

Every year you get a check to see if you have a Court Griot or not. if you do, nothing happens. If you don't, you get a negative modifier till you do. To have a Court Griot you have to have to pick someone who has the Griot trait.

You get the option to host a grand griot performance, which is an event chain with lots of different events. I believe Cybr wrote about over 30 different things for your griot to sing about, and some things to happen during it.

They are also necessary for the iron staff event chain.

I want to adapt that for Norse Skalds and Celtic Bards. As well as some more events to reflect the importance of the Skalds, Bards and other similar poets to their society.

Can you tell me where I can download that submod? I can make a version with events for the culture of the troubadours.

well. 0.1 of my submod doesn't have the Griot events in yet, that will be for 0.2. I am planning on getting that out either this weekend or next week.
