I am aware of the court settings (food, fashion, etc) resetting "bug". But this is different.

So far it has only happened in two playthroughs.

Not only do the court settings reset to the default level 2, but my primary title keeps changing (I have two dejure Kingdoms and even if I get rid of one it gets recreated), all councilor slots are blank (not a big issue normally), the priest is a new person (sucks when the last guy had 20+ learning and is replaced by a dude with single digit), all court positions are empty, and ALL courtiers except spouse become wanderers (including siblings and children, even the heir), sometimes out of diplo range making it impossible to bring them back.

Possible causes: my guess is that the primary title changing on succession is related to causing this because having two Kingdoms is one thing different about the current playthrough where it is happening. Once I get plain partition and delete the unwanted title I will see if it keeps happening.

Mostly I am just curious if anyone else has had this happen or knows why it is happening (and of course, is it a bug worthy of a report).

In my post in that thread is a post to other discussions. To my knowledge, still not been acknowledged as a bug.

Not only do the court settings reset to the default level 2,
You lose set amount on succession, one reason to be far above expected grandeur on death
but my primary title keeps changing (I have two dejure Kingdoms and even if I get rid of one it gets recreated),
You have Confederate partition and have not made all land de jure primary title, and hold enough land to create the additional title
all councilor slots are blank (not a big issue normally),
Vassals changing kingdoms?
the priest is a new person (sucks when the last guy had 20+ learning and is replaced by a dude with single digit), all court positions are empty, and ALL courtiers except spouse become wanderers (including siblings and children, even the heir), sometimes out of diplo range making it impossible to bring them back.
Courtiers or guests?

Let me be more clear. If I have both titles, it will switch which title is my primary on succession. If I don't, it will create one and then switch.
Either way it is switching which title is my primary. If this is a hidden feature of Con Partition then so be it.

Next: vassals aren't changing, the counsel slots just get cleared and I have to reappoint. Not a big deal.

Last: ALL Courtiers. My doc, my knights, my kids, my relatives. Anyone who doesn't own a piece of land says "peace out" and goes off as a wanderer/guest of other powers.

And a note: this is vanilla, all DLC to date.
And it doesn't happen every game, just this current one and I remember it once before. I'm going to experiment this weekend to see if I can cause it to happen with a new game of the same starting character.

I meant the settings were resetting. So Fashion would be at max, but on succession would be back at setting 2. Same with Food, Lodging, and Servants.

I was aware of the Grandeur level changing, but thought that was intended so haven't paid much mind to it.

Some of grandeur lose is definitely intended. Lose ~10 grandeur for a new ruler. Lose another 10 or less if the previous ruler was a tyrant. And court language has some effects. But some players, including me, have lost upwards of 80 grandeur at succession for unknown reasons.

I’ve also experienced the weird resetting court amenities. This is what I think, but I haven’t looked at the code (and I think, properly, I think it’s the order of operations for the a couple of routines), so FWIW… During succession if the physical location of your capital changes, your court amenities reset. When the game goes to restore the settings to their previous levels, though, your monthly income is not set yet because you’re in the middle of succession, and there’s an interaction between that and how high the game resets your court amenities. So, basically, because your monthly income, which is in flux, won’t support the prior settings it resets to numbers it will support.

Confederate partition creates the title. I have no idea why your primary title is changing. First place I’d check is your laws. Elective succession could result in what you’re describing — losing the election for the primary, but winning the other election or creating the title. Male only or preference/female only or preference on opposite kingdom titles could result in what you’re describing.
