So when I am playing as Britain, and have my "large ships" and fight 30 large ships against those 45 super cheep, how is it that they put up such a fight? they are so much cheaper! I guess my question is, How do you guys set up your fleets for maximum efficiency? Do you get a bonus for having certain unit types together like you do when you have a army with infantry AND Calvary/cannons? and what is the best combination for that? lol many questions..

And it doesn't give a maintenance cost for "large ships" .... anyone know that?

http://www.paradoxian.org/eu3wiki/Naval_unit_types I see this, but what are your in-game experiences?

Then I am interested to hear different ways to grow your economy, I still feel like it is a mystery sometimes! I pushed my slider all mercantilism since I am expanding so much and have a high infamy "17" ATM...

For fleet size, you want 5000 guns from heavy ships in your main battle fleets, no more. The new patch has made one important change where you need to set your fleet to patrol to give a better chance of initiating combat in the sea zone, and light ships increase the likelihood of starting the fight as well. So create a few small fleets of light ships to start the fights, then when your main fleet get there, have the small ships retreat.

Were the naval tech and maintenance settings equal? Admirals involved? National ideas? All things equal, 30 "modern" large ships should beat 45 galleys, even in the Mediterranean. You might have just been unlucky.

Maintenance costs vary depending on lots of factors, http://www.paradoxian.org/eu3wiki/Military#Maintenance_Costs . Holding your mouse over one of your ships will show the maintenance cost as well as that ships speed and number of guns and hull. If you build the new ship in the same place that one was built, it should be the same.

As for your economy, are you playing as England still? How many CoT's do you own?

Have you read http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum...vitabilty-of-Epic-Failure&highlight=Prawnstar? If you want to learn the game, I highly recommend that AAR.

Centers of trade? that is where I send my merchants correct? I do not own any.... just Alexandria and I have a monopoly there. (slider is all the way towards left towards merchentilism).

and before I ask another question I will read that "AAR" first. Thanks!

That is really a great suggestion. Great read. Best AAR ever!

So I've been told! now I am actually on page like 17. good stuff and he is funny, I wish they talked a little more on a tactical level too.

Army sizes, manuvers and maybe talk about trade, Idk if he is building any buildings or what he is doing to maximize his economy, how many people up thier taxes during war times? idkkkkk lol little things like that!
