I've been playing with the latest beta (15 Apr), and have found a couple of things of interest (I should note I'm a pretty big cheater, but I don't think that created or altered these things, just F12 stuff). A quick review of the first page of posts here did not show them as being raised before, so I thought I'd raise them.
1. Pagan/Muslim Vassals to Christian Kings. Really, I'm not even sure how it happens, but I have two situations in my current game. One is where a Muslim count-level ruler managed to take away all of the French king's demesne in France proper (about 4 provs -- Poor Roland must have been spinning in his grave
). The Capets survived (in Morocco), but then, maybe a month later, the Muslims were the vassals of the French king they were just at war with. I'm guessing this is because since the Muslim holdings are in France (only the 4 provs), they ask the French king to be their liege but it creates a silly situation.
In the same game, a different Muslem count-level ruler has taken Essex as well as a couple of other English provs. However, instead of swearing to England, they are vassals of the (Christian) Egyptian Kingdom. As a test I declared war on the Muslem count in England, and Egypt did, in fact, declare war on me in defense of their vassal.
Obvioulsy, this is a side effect of the Muslim counter-attacks in Europe, which is a different discussion all together.
2. Vassal Spam. I really appreciate the changes that were made to lessen the marriage spam, however I'm finding a similar situation with vassals that have broken away from me via war, etc. If this happens, and I hold the traditional associated liege title to that vassal, once my reputation has recovered they ask to be my vassal repeatedly (really like the associated-vassal thing, btw).
I'm not really asking for changes or anything (though if I was, I'd first ask for a "go to" button on all prov-specific messages (i.e., tech-spread, cessation of plague effect, etc.
)), just a heads-up in case it hasn't been noticed before.
Thank you Johan, Mr. T, and everyone else that has been putting in all this time to improve this very fun game.
