IIRC did not a coup in hoi2 or darkest hour lead to a peace agreement between the waring nations?

No, but I think it led to a much higher chance that they would accept a peace offer.
I'm not entirely sure but I kinda remember something like that, that after coup'ing a nation you were at war with a peace treaty took place as well. Messed my WW3 that way once, but I am not too sure tbh.
